Q: This game is very close to the World Cup, are you going to have everybody available? Argentina have suggested they might want to take players earlier. Will Emi Martinez play?

Emery said: Yes I think (our World Cup players) are going to be available on Sunday to play. We need them and we are happy because the players playing in the World Cup is amazing for them and you have to respect the national team and the individual performance of them but, Sunday, we are playing a very important match and those three points, for us, are important to get behind us.

Sounds like nothing to worry about, then.

I can just about put up with this cobblers if it's a dead rubber but not at this stage of the season.

Quick flick through the starting line ups in the Prem, Serie A and Bundesliga and nobody seems to be resting any of there World Cup players. We'll go full strength I'm sure.

I can forgive resting a few in the cup (obviously not the most popular opinion on here!), but we need maximum commitment from all the players tomorrow.  If we’re sat mid table looking up it’ll be much easier to persuade great players to move here.

It's a non-issue, as above.

Results have been quite kind to us today. A win tomorrow would be a huge step in the right direction.

We're in zero danger of going down. Unless anyone thinks Unai won't manage a point a game for the rest of the season.

I'm anticipating Emery to makes changes from the cup game and picking a side such as this

Martinez
Young Konsa, Mings, Digne
Dendoncker, Luiz,
Ramsey, Bailey, Buendia,
Watkins

In Australia so will probably be following on here at some ungodly hour. Think we will win this one comfortably.

From a selfish point of view I am glad so many of our underperforming players missed out on the World Cup squads, as Emery will be able to have a full months boot camp with them.

Brighton normally feels like a 1-1 type of game. Last season we bucked the trend and played well in both and got two comfortable 2-0 wins.

They've got some good players right across the park, Trossard's been in brilliant form for them and really should be starting for Belgium at the world cup. He's everything hopefully Buendia will eventually be for us.

As said above start the team v Man. United (in league) and see what happens atlhough given it's away I think Kamara will start again althoug he flagged badly after 60 minutes on Thursday which wasn't a big surprise, still amazed we took Ramsey off instead.

I know exactly what you mean, and that's what I'm plumping for. 1-1.

A 'meh' note going into the sharia break, but with plenty of positivity about what Emery will manage to achieve with the squad in that time.

We're creating chances, scoring goals and it's a ground where we've got a good record. The away form is an issue though but it's got to end sometime.
