Glacial going forwards.
The space and pace has gone.

First goal attempt of the game. You'll be amazed to learn that it wasn't us.

They’ve obviously been told to play from the back but it seems the players are not quite good enough to execute it

seems like we are playing for pens. most of our possession is across our 18 yard line the only forward passing is from a defender to a midfielder who has a red shirt right up his chuff, consequently we surrender possession.
I'd love to see one of our strikers really hassle McGuire.

Sitting back to hit them on the break…..with virtually no pace in midfield or up front  ::)

It's all a bit reminiscent of Gerrardball so far.
At least it will give Emery an idea of what he's got to work with.

It's interesting, all those games where we played like we had no midfield. All those times with McGinn in it, contributing nothing at all. Bring him back, and we look like we've got no midfield.

He's absolutely pants, a poor footballer at this level.

We have quite a few players in who are either coming back from injury or haven't played much and I think it's showing. That said I think we're trying to draw them on to us so we can play into the space they leave but we've just not quite go the break right yet. It looks poor but I can see what we're trying to do unlike a lot of games earlier in the season.

This is terrible. 27 minutes in, and we have yet to produce so much as a single meaningful pass in the opposition half.

Instead of lulling them into a false sense of security, maybe we're just trying to lull them to sleep.

I'm all for playing it out from the back, but only if you actually play it out!
