The most annoying thing about them, is that many of their showreel moments have come at Villa Park and at our expense.  So many 'thrilling comebacks'.  I am weirdly confident today, but that might not last as the game approaches!

Even that Giggs goal against Arsenal was at Villa Park. Another thing to hate about them.

Why couldn't it have been somewhere shit like Anfield or Molineux?

After 27 years of waiting, has the moment finally arrived?
The withered corrupt twat who hasn’t forgiven us for denying them the domestic treble and the nauseating wank-fest that would have inevitably followed - is it too much to ask to play well and not be failed by a bent ref?  Put a spotlight by media commentators and influencers on the one sided nature of this particular match and watch them squirm.
Is there any thing more unholy, abominable and disturbing than the existence of ‘the brummie reds’.
If Senor Emery masterminds a win - he could drive his car through my living room and I’d make him a cup of tea.
I can remember at least 4 occasions we’ve been winning and they’ve scrambled a draw or won. I’ve seen us beat every team at home but these and it’s beyond a joke.
I honestly can’t call this match due to the variables - but going to try - a Villa win !!!

Gone for the win. Courtesy of new manager bounce.

Obviously I don’t for a moment think we’ll win, but at least with Fernandes out they’ll probably have to do us fair and square.

Most important question of the day. Who is the ref and the VAR muppet today?

They haven't beaten us without help since the game they relegated us in 2016. I don't expect anything to change over the next 7 days.

But you live in hope.

We have had so much heartache against these. We actually drew a few home games with them after the 3-1 win in 1995-96. The home games in 1996-97 and 1998-99 were both draws and we beat them in the league cup in 99-00. We also drew the home game in 01-02. It was the damned FA cup game that season when we blew a 2-0 lead that really started the misery. And we went on to blow a few good chances to beat them after that.

I do feel, however, the tide is turning here. We did well in the home-game last January. We really fizzed when Coutinho came on and fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.

If we can fizz today with a new manager bounce...well, you just never know. Oddly, if it was a night game I would be a little more confident than I am.

We can only hope for the best.

More than likely we'll all trudge away from the ground in disappointment and frustration yet again, in the damp weather and under the darkening skies courtesy of Greenwich Mean Time...

If we win today and Unai Emery doesn't do anythig else significant in his tenure, he will still have a place in our history. Sadly don't think it will happen today going 2-1 away win.

Not sure what to make of today - I do think we will lose because Ten Hag has really got them going (impressed by the job he’s done there since being appointed) and Unai has had 4 days with the players only.

As long as we see more fight, more energy, and more organisation, I’ll be ok with that - the table doesn’t mean a lot yet, and even if we lose we will still likely only be 6 points off 10th.

There is a long way to go and we need to be patient. Let’s get behind Unai and the boys and not expect miracles
