In my nightmare I see Shaw and Rashford combining their way past Cash and Rashford deliver into our box.

I remember our last league win at Villa Park against this lot like it was yesterday. First game of the season, sun shining, Sir Brian in charge, Savo and Yorkie leading the line, with a midfield of Tayls, Andy Townsend and Mark Draper in behind, backed up by God, Southgate, Ugo and Bozzie.

Smashed them 3-0 by halftime, only for them to claw one back in the second half, giving a first team debut at HT to a certain floppy haired youngster by the name of David Beckham, who then proceeded to score a worldy against Bozzie!

I think you could see the quality of the likes of Beckham even in that second half. Bozzie had to make a few saves if I recall correctly.

It was such a well balanced Villa team. Quality all over the pitch. Draper was a strange one, very good for us for a couple of seasons but his career petered out very quickly. Gregory wasn't a fan?

27 years of misery, finding every single way possible to fuck this one up.
Closest we got was the Houllier season where we should have tonked them by 6 but ended scrabbling a 2-2.

Come on Villa, let’s put this hoodoo to bed.

Hopefully we’ll be better set up and even at this stage will be able to see some sort of plan and tactics. Excited by Emery but 4 days is nothing so I just hope for the new manager bounce tomorrow.

Remember Lambert's first season? 2-0 up with about half an hour to go  :'(

I think Drapes may have started to believe his own press. He was quickly touted for England in 95/96 and got a call-up to the squad under Hoddle.

Didn't come across as the brightest (see that oft-quoted comment of his about wanting to play for a top Italian side like Barcelona) but he had niggly injuries too which halted his momentum.

When he eventually did get his foreign move, it was on-loan to Rayo Vallecano, Madrid's 3rd team (although Getafe in the last couple of decades usurped them for a long time). Apparently he looked up the word "pass" in the English-Spanish dictionary to help him when training with his teammates. Imagine their confusion when he kept hollering at them for a driver's license...

Decades of finding new ways to fuck up or get screwed over against this lot have knocked any hope out of me.

I'd love a win, would take a draw but expect a loss.

Probably in the bottom three this time tomorrow.

I don't think we will lose tomorrow.  Most confident I've been for ages going into this fixture.  Weird eh!

Albrighton scored in front of the Holte end. Ashley Young scored a penalty I think?

Remember watching that in a pub in Beijing. Was stoned, pissed and very happy. Plenty of Villa in there.

Then those ****** scored twice and all these screbby little man Utd fans were celebrating as if they'd won the world cup. Wankers.

I was in the Holte end. Their fans spilled out onto the pitch when Vidic scored.

It had to be that cheating fuck, Vidic also, didn't it. Carling Cup final wounds were still raw at that point, too.
