What an utterly embarrassing fact that they’re unbeaten in 23 PL games at Villa Park.

It’s a dreadful, inexcusable record, even allowing for the fact we were cheated in 7 or 8 of those. Appalling.

When did we last beat them at home?

In the league, August 1995.
I remember a great 3-2 win back in 1977?? With a fabulous Andy Gray winner and another 3-0 under SGT in1989, great games

The 1989 game i was 15, and that was when SGTs side was really starting to motor. That was a great xmas period, Arsenal were the champions and we beat them 2-1 at home, then mullered Man u boxing day with three 2nd half goals in front of the Holte, it was electric and McGrath and Platt were on fire. New Years Day 1990 a few days later my bro who was a chelsea fan, got me a ticket to the game at their place and we battered them
3-0, Tony Daley was unplayable. I remember on the drive home Forest drew 2-2 with the mighty Liverpool and it really felt like we could win the league, so exciting.
Romance isnt dead, we’ll do this lot…..twice

Here we go again.
The match I detest the most every season. I hate their cunting fants, their cunting team and their cunting club.
I hate the fact we can’t beat them, the way they cheat and scam us and every cunting referee that has taken charge of this game for 20 years.

I hate us losing to anyone, but losing to these just cuts deeper than any other loss.

The ONLY way I am going to get over this hate is for us to finally beat the bastards.

PLEASE VILLA….JUST WIN.

I have to disagree. Even if we  beat them 5-0 on Sunday, win up there on Thursday, then do the double over them for the next 5 years they will still be the same bunch of arseholes they have always been who deserve the same level of vitriol you have so poetically described above.

I watched the first couple of minutes of highlights of the 0-3 NYD 1990 win at Stamford Bridge on Youtube and learned that our 1989 festive form was even better. We had won four in a row cos we did Forest in the Zenith Data Systems Trophy just before Crimbo!!

I will be watching to see how he uses Coutino, his first few games showed he still has the talent, does he still have the desire?

I hadn’t clocked that Fernandes is banned for them. Always a nuisance to us and a cheating horrible little runt.

We had some belters against this shit-shower in the '70's - they had a very tidy side with Coppell, Hill and Pearson up front but we usually seemed to get something out of those games.

I can only see 3pts under Emery.
The man knows what to do and would have some extra information on Man Utd players used from time at Villareal.

Let's say 2-0.
Ings and Bailey.

Even in my ST holding years, this is the one match I always took every available excuse to not go to.

Everything about it, I fucking hate.

Shit isn't it. I just turned 40 a few months back, and besides a few wins at their theatre of tossers, there hasn't been much to cheer about when it comes to these fuckers.

The last time I saw us beat them at our place was the Didier Six game.

I remember our last league win at Villa Park against this lot like it was yesterday. First game of the season, sun shining, Sir Brian in charge, Savo and Yorkie leading the line, with a midfield of Tayls, Andy Townsend and Mark Draper in behind, backed up by God, Southgate, Ugo and Bozzie.

Smashed them 3-0 by halftime, only for them to claw one back in the second half, giving a first team debut at HT to a certain floppy haired youngster by the name of David Beckham, who then proceeded to score a worldy against Bozzie!

That evening, Hansen made the "You'll never win anything with kids" remark - They went on to win every trophy under the sun throughout their playing careers and then retire (!), we slowly spiralled into relegation and bounced back again, and 27 years later, we're still looking for that next elusive home win against them!

I was 19, pushing 20 the last time we won... I'm now a week away from being 47! This HAS to end tomorrow! #UTV
