They’ve got no nonsense defenders, a really good right back, and forward players who are sharp, and can take and create chances.

They’re also confident, and well coached.

We’ve lost a year under Gerrard going backwards (or at least not forwards) on pretty much every measure.

A lot for Emery to do.
Agreed and it shows what can be done with good coaching

I didn't expect much out of this game, but I didn't expect a hammering.  This is what it's been.

What’s the excuse this week? The coach has gone, they’ve come off the back of an 4-0 win and the slightest sign of a battle and the white flags go up.
It must be Danks’ fault surely?

I’m feeling pretty angry about the players right now

Same. Though I have felt that way since the last months of Smith's reign.

They were crap for Dean at the end, crap for the Gerrard throughout, and are crap still now.

Not an ounce of pride.

I'm ranting of course, but fucking hell

It doesn’t matter who we have as manager, he won’t get this squad above half way. Our season relies heavily on January because it’s clear to anyone we have some very ordinary players.

Rubbish you cant tell me that Newcastle have much better players than we do. With a proper team of coaches a top manager and a form of direction there is plenty in this squad to get above mid table. We've had a year of awful management it isint going to suddenly switch now we've got rid of them all.

Newcastle are really good, Howe has done an amazing job.

I don't think Newcastle are anything special, they're now playing with loads of confidence against a team that have given up.
I like Howe. He has more class than the Geordie Nation combined.

Shambolic second half.

I joked after last week hopefully Danks wouldn't imitate McDonald's first caretaker spell, he had a good go second half today.

I'll be happy just to get as quickly to 20 points as possible, hopefully sometime in January. We won't be flying up the league as much as everyone assumes when you see collapses like today.

Rudderless.  The quicker Emery gets his men in and we get to January the better.

We have a repugnant whiff of relegation about us at the moment.  4 - 0 is flattering.  It honestly could be 8 or 9.

Newcastle have a very defined plan on how to play and they’ve stuck to it for a good while. We went from Dean Smith’s traps, to Steven Gerrard’s look me in the eye and roll up your sleeves plan to handing the reigns to two blokes who have nothing to lose but do their best. It might get uglier under Emery before it gets better. But at least it will be a plan he will want us to adhere to and learn. Our players look fucking awful and lost.

Yeah but you were worried about Bournemouth pulling clear of us half an hour ago  ;)
