At the end of this season, offer him a new deal.

More important than any player.

We can't risk losing him.

A 10 year deal where he writes his own numbers would be the way

I think more than any deal we continue to support him in every way possible and he'll stay.

He's got, and will get, everything he needs with us. It's a perfect fit.

Yep. There might be more traditionally 'high profile' jobs that come along, but he will never find another club that gives him the control and freedom he gets here.  As long as we keep supporting him to the maximum we are able in the transfer market, I suspect he'll be here for the very long-term.

He needs to become our Ferguson or Wenger.

He's had arguably higher profile jobs at PSG and Arsenal. They didn't work out, so I'm sure being the intelligent bloke he is he realises he can stay here and achieve everything he's ever dreamed of with owners who support him completely, supporters who worship him and players who would run through a brick wall for him.

What I love about King Unai is his the fact he never moans about decisions, other managers , players ref etc. As soon as managers start blaming other people they lose respect and control of a group. He understands this and has a 100% ownership approach. This passes  down to the players\staff  attitudes and is going a long way to changing the mentality of Aston Villa. He is Elite!

And given he was essentially hand picked by the owner vs the then CEO when we fired carpet head, I am sure they have developed a very tight bond. He’s got everything he wants to cement himself as a long term manager of our club and the owners have what they want in an outstanding leader and ambassador.

I love he doesn't moan about decisions, however the managers that do mainly use it as a tactic to get more favourable decisions in future and it usually works.

I'm not sure if it was on Sky or another channel, but one interviewer really pressed him to elaborate on the tactics and game plan he had come up with for Arsenal and Unai did exactly that.  You don't often get much more than worked hard, consistent etc.  so I thought fair play to the interviewer on that one.

Yep, I'd like him to, every now and then, acknowledge that we've had some shitty decisions against us. Not as an excuse or to have a moan but to put a bit of pressure on refs to not give so many cheap fouls/bookings against us. The Rogers yellow yesterday or the Luiz yellow against Lille being good examples.

The arrogance of some manure fans. They really do think if ratcliffe came in for him emery will be gone. Somw of my manure mates even think im being naive for thinking he would reject them.

Why the hell would he potentially leave CL football for conference ? Are these people stupid?

He has managed in Spain successfully. I find what he brings is that ability to build long term. And at times it doesn’t look pretty. And at places like Barca or Real Madrid there is no time for that. The fans have become so accustomed to trophies every season that anything short of that and the manager is gone. Look at some of the names that have lasted a season or two. Emery is a builder and he’s in the perfect place to build an incredible legacy.

Listening to Arteta after the game I was struck by how normal it is for managers to be graceless, moochy fucks after a defeat, and how quickly I've got used to the idea that our manager will be equitable, fair, objective, informative, and admitting of no excuses. Arteta was so grudging, couldn't offer even one word of praise for the worthy foe. Unai never pulls that shit.
