What I can not figure out is the loss of form of so many players at the same time.

It doesn’t feel like it, but I think its been more gradual. After we lost to Everton, we went and played really well and won at Newcastl, from memory we beat Brighton (though not playing well) after losing to Brentford?? Losing the three midfielders has been key, but then a player like Beundia who has probably been over performing returns to type and Watkins has been off form all season.

I also think, whilst Emery for me is the best manager in my years supporting us, he inexplicably keeps picking Mings, bring Bailey on or starting him, alternating between Mastsen and Digne. Unless he’s managing injuries we’re not aware of, there is no need to keep picking Mings, Torres is our main playmaker.

Unai just seems to be in a dark place right now. In a way we all are watching it fall apart. Let’s hope we can get past Lille.

Dark place, all falling apart. A bit dramatic.

I’ve never heard him say he expected us to lose. That’s not exactly healthy.

He said pre-match it's hard to score at OT as they have the best keeper in the league, which i'm sure thrilled Emi. He needs to be more ebullient about us.

Surely if Emery is off, he’d play Elliott as he wouldn’t care if it cost us 30m?

So….I reckon he’s here for the re-build and he knows he needs that money for essential incomings and we’ll win the Euro Cup and finish strong in the league.

That's a strange postulation.

Yeah.. that wouldn't be a reason for providing any reassurance that he's staying put!

Why? Everyone keeps saying he’s off? Maybe he isn’t and doesn’t want him here next season? Hence his very obvious stubbornness over not playing him when we’re a little desperate for midfielders.

He's about to win a trophy and qualify via league position for the CL with both arms tied behind his back owing to injuries and Monchi Madness in the summer. Where is he going?

If he wanted to use him but it's all the clause stuff that is stopping him, then he'd have played more minutes on Thursday than just injury time.

What I can not figure out is the loss of form of so many players at the same time.

Perhaps a number of them were over performing earlier in the season - Rogers, Buendia, Cash come to mind. There's a good number with their best days behind them in any case - Martinez, Mings, Digne, Barkley, Buendia, Bailey, Watkins.

Emery isn't helping matters with batshit crazy selections, subs and general tactics

Just rewatching some “highlights”. I’m at a total loss to understand why Unai is playing Bailey. It’s like sabotage. There needs to be some sort of intervention. It’s beyond any rational explanation.
