We look devoid of confidence and toothless.  Unai will sort it out I’m sure.
I think the lack of confidence is a huge problem.  I'd suspect the summer has been really disruptive for us, with numerous key players not knowing whether they'll be at the club or not (Watkins, Martinez, Ramsey, ..), and it's just destroyed any morale we had.

I'm confident that given a bit of time, we'll get back to ourselves. That starts with not conceeding goals, I think, so the point against Everton is a good start there.  The games in the rest of September and in early October (Brentford A, Sunderland A, Bologna H, Fulham H, Feyenoord A, Burnley H) will be key IMO.  Get in to ourstride in that and we'll be alright.  Don't, and there'll be some big question marks over whether we should stick or twist.

Emery: "We have to improve offensively as we are not scoring goals, but with this point, I am happy. We are building the team and getting confidence and getting emotions together. This point is necessary to keep going."

What do you think he means when he says, "getting emotions together". Group wanks on a biscuit?

He's got everyone on strings and knows he can bullshit as much he wants and get away with it.

3 years in and he has a team of players he's worked with for much of that time playing like they've never clapped eyes on each other before, and showing no signs of correcting it.  Sorry, but hes got to go

Oh do fuck off

Unai doesn’t need to go, that’s just dense. He does need to make some changes though, it’s remarkable how insipid we have been. We’ve been so incoherent as an attacking side - we have to be more dynamic and take more risk.

Anyone who thinks Emery should go is clearly an imbecile.

Evidence for above argument:

Only one person on here seems to think Emery should go.

The person in question is an imbecile.

I suppose it's possible that there is an entire clique of anti-Emery intellectualism existing in a subculture of smoke filled cafes, offline. But I can only judge on the evidence provided.

Is this the first time in his managerial career that things have been a bit shit?

arsenal missed out on the chmps league when they should have done it and they lost a cup final , season after arsenal went utter shit and he got the boot.

Back in 2013/14, Sevilla lost 3 games and drew 2 times in the opening 5 games (L, D, D, L, L). They finished the season 5th in LaLiga and as Europa League winners. Their 1st win of the season came on 25 September.

Sigh. I’ll caveat all of this by admitting I didn’t see the game today. Was actually in Liverpool, navigating the madness (parking, heavy lifting) and sadness  of moving my daughter into uni. However, Ive seen every other game this season.
Its fairly obvious we’ve had
1. A shit start to the season
2. The football is the most stunted since Emery took over.
3. We’ve had a disrupted pre season.

But any even hints on sticking or twisting even in a few weeks is madness. We’ve had 5 shite in a row games after 3 years of mainly highs, the bloke deserves loyalty and trust.
There is also a bit of building narrative across some threads about this run coming on the back of poor form last season. FA cup SF aside as a shit let down, our results for the final third of the season was near enough league winning form punctuated by the shit man utd result at the end.

I think he’s trying to fix the defence and this is combined with only belatedly being able to add Elliot and to a lesser extent Sancho to the squad, so relying on limited Beundia and a badly out of form Rogers. All resulting in tepid attacking displays.

I think playing Mings and Konsa and losing Pau’s creativity is fine, if you got a midfield breaking the lines and width with pace.

Anyway, Im pretty convinced it will come. A scrappy off the arse fluke will get us off the mark and will drive on from there.
