Relegation watch - 2022/23
« on: October 22, 2022, 02:26:57 PM »
Bonkers season so far.  The promoted clubs are showing glimpses of good form which could drag more established clubs into the mix.  Leicester and Wolves are currently obliging however I think both (and us) should be comfortable by the end of the season.

I’ll go:

18 Leeds 39pts
19 Everton 38pts
20 Forest 35pts

Predictions please…

Let's appoint a manager before we make predictions.

Unless we solve the goal scoring problem and soon we are in trouble.
I keep watching a team that doesn’t look like scoring even when we create chances.

Eleven games played. Forgive me I don't quiver in abject terror just yet.

Us already playing all three promoted teams away is going to make it difficult for next manager to even get 4-5 away wins this season now unless we improve a bit defensively. Leeds and even Palace are also games I'd have in the winnable category.

Going to be a season where we need to win more than the 6-7 at VP we usually do so will be some big home games after xmas to play I think.

We've spunked loads of the ''easier'' games on Gerrard. We're in trouble.

Really hard one to call at the moment. I'd love Leeds to go with their complete knob head of a manager, but he's doing much better than I thought he would tbf.

I think Forest will go, but can't pick another 2. If we can appoint a semi competent manager I think we'll be fairly comfortable.

Similar to Sherwood. We played all of Sunderland, West Brom, Stoke and Swansea at home early on in that horrific season and won none of them. Garde then had Man. City, Arsenal and a decent Everton all in his first 5 games and predictably couldn't get any momentum and it was just a slow lingering death from that point.

We had four points from our first eleven games, then, and basically zero good players.
