Pre-Match Fry-Up: Villa v Brentford Sunday 23/10/22 2PM
« on: October 22, 2022, 02:21:47 AM »
Never started one of these but someone needs to, easy to forget we have another game in 36 hours.

It would be a very Villa thing to beat a bogey side while we don't have a manager. And much welcomed.

It's my first Villa Park game since 1-3 versus WardProwse/Southampton in December 2019. It was the day that McGinn got that nasty injury and I'm not sure he's ever quite been the same player for us since.

Good luck Mr Danks - maybe let the shackles off and give Naka and Sanson a run-out.

No expectations except for a curious afternoon.

Gerrard is gone, surely the disaster of Fulham won’t be repeated. Hopefully there will be a sense of freedom in our play. I’ll go 2-1 Villa - Coutinho and Watkins.

Clouds slightly lifted we will play better football. They will score, we will score more

2–1 Coutinho, Watkins. Toney for them

4-1. Tight first half, 1-1 at HT, but we run riot in the second half.

Brentford will be far too good for our one paced cloggers

No, our internationals will be too much for their bit-part well-drilled amateurs.

We need to start believing or we're fucked.

The first person not born when we won the European Cup to take charge of a 1st team game.

I prefer the fixture before the pre-match bit. Also, we know it is a thread.

Gerrard was the first manager younger than me, and now this. We need to recruit some old bastard.

                                    Martinez

Cash             Chambers                 Mings             Young

                           Luiz              Nakamba

Bailey                          Buendia                    Ramsey

                                   Archer

Sansom to come on at some stage. Let McGinn, Watkins, Ings, Coutinho, Konsa look at themselves in a mirror for a few days.

Haha. We are fucked I think. Look at the state of us, and as for our apparent internationals, some of them have been the worst offenders.

But I still believe we'll stay up. I think :D

Villa win!
Feeling positive about the actual football side of a match day since I don't know when.
Players will be eager to prove themselves as individuals and as a team!
Come on the Villa boys and our caretaker manager!

Can we have a poll on which of the two pre match threads is the best?
