Midfield isn't working, surprisingly

When do McGinn and Ramsey arrive?
They're waiting for Bailey to come off the team bus

He’s swapped Ramsey and McGinn and it’s not working. Ramsey is better on the left of the midfield

McGinn has been involved throughout but don't let that get in the way of your confirmation bias.

He’s been invisible, I’ll just ignore your Caledonian bias.

We have the weakest press of any team in this league.  By a mile.

Didn’t know we had one

If we are going to play McGinn play him in a role that takes advantage of his better qualities. In a more subdued role he’s slow and ponderous and seems lost. Or just useless as he gets caught on the ball too often. His football for us predictable.

This is predictably tedious. I don’t think it helps that I’ve been watching Man City this afternoon.

According to Whoscored, McGinn’s pass completion rate as of 28 mins is 0%

He's been kicked every time he's had the ball!

Terrible start almost across the board, not helped by the ref giving us a very cheap yellow card early on. By setting such a low bar for bookings I think it's inevitable there will be a red here.

The problem though, as ever under Gerrard, is that we look like our team met for the first time in the changing room.

To be fair it’s probably going to plan. Take the sting out of it and piss them off for an hour
