Whatever the outcome tonight, for his own sake Gerrard needs to explain his team selection - why no Dougie etc.

And also the logic behind his substitutions - maybe there was something he saw that we've all missed.

We don't want you hear "XYZ trained well", because on the basis of some performances this season what certain players do or don't do at BMH has sod all connection to what they do in the shirt, on the pitch.

Issue is, he's meant to be causing problems for Southampton, not us.
