McGinn could be the fall of Gerrard.

For the first time we looked like we had a balanced midfield and he drops Luiz.

This thread makes me happy. We're usually shit when people are happy with the line up.

Where's Archer?

Still not recovered fully from his hip niggle.

Gerrard deserves the boot
He never learns
All the money his team earns and they come up with this team after two weeks
Watch us win 5 0

Hopefully McGinn has benefited from the rest because if he doesn’t have a good game there will be some heat on Gerrard.

The Sky show kicks off with some extended waffle about the royal family, zero escaping the enforced misery.

I really hope we're shown to be unnecessarily pessimistic but can't see how we can expect a win with that team

I bet Southampton are glad they’re not starting against the team on the bench.

It's a win tonight or you can fuck off Gerrard.  No excuses, Southampton are not a great side and should be coming here to lose.  We have to stop being a benevolent team and start winning our home games like it's an automatic thing.  The team isn't exactly inspiring, so I want to see us pressing all over the pitch and peppering their goal.  Stop talking a great game and deliver one.

Gerrard is a fucking idiot.

Luiz loses his place and McGinn somehow keeps his?

Ffs.

..and that’s why he’s gone in January. We can only blame ourselves at this point.

Bad result tonight and he's gone this weekend, I reckon.

Yes. I only decided to briefly express my regret at McGinn’s inclusion to invoke this magic and inspire a good performance. He is shit though.

Hope Emi 1 is fully fit, Gerrard has just said it was a very close thing.

We can easily win tonight, I wouldn't be surprised but the long term prospects are grim if the manager isn't progressive, reactive and able to improvise and recognise players who are in or out of form.
