Nice to read of your trip to the Villa and what you made of it. Thanks for sharing it here. Great to see the pics too.

Not sure if you're writing for a transatlantic audience, but Uniforms? Lawn?

Agree about the catering, I think 5/10 was generous ......but I'm glad the cauliflower pie Wass out of stock, otherwise I think we'd have struggled to get 2/10 !

Thanks for the write up and good luck with your journey.

"They also have two other nicknames: 'Villans,' which is a wordplay that many people mispronounce as 'Villains'

Erm?

Erm?
Two more dodgy comments:
"there are many different types of workers there" hmm..
And referring to the hallowed turf "the lawn was well kept and attractive" hmm...
I think I'll leave it there.

This is fabulous.

"Notable people from Birmingham : Gabby Agbonlahor"

And then then the matchday experience....

'There is a pub on the corner of Tilton Road, but when we arrived, it was packed with Birmingham fans—and one Rangers fan—so we decided to pass.'

Haha.

Haha.

Everything you'd expect from a trip to the Sty, hapless staff, moody locals and shite football. The photos look grim, and I love that the last one is of an ambulance.

My favourite bit is:

"We were told to go to the Gil Merrick entrance, so that's where we went. We were searched again here. (SEARCH COUNT:3) Our tickets did not work, so we were directed to the Gil Merrick entrance, which was convenient because we were already there. We were instructed to go to the ticket office to find out where we needed to go, which was, you guessed it, the Gil Merrick entrance. We returned, and they let us in, but not before another search"

Ha! Yes, that ambulance one did make me smile. What a way to top off the day.

I used to think going to Filbert Street with my dad was grim. After my one and only trip to the sty, I longed to sit in the orange seats of the Family enclosure with the other filthy Leicester fans.

To be fair to my dad, he never once encouraged me to support Leicester, he agreed when my granddad called Villa Park the 'smartest ground in the country', and I know he loves going to the Villa alot more than having to go to that wanky crisp bowl they have now.
