Leicester City vs Aston Villa off
« on: September 05, 2022, 01:01:03 PM »
Saturday 10th September, kick off 3pm.

Big one lads.

I think it will be much tougher than many are assuming.

Leicester are really up against it and they still have some excellent players.

Any win will do.

FTF.

A tough game that we'll underestimate at our cost.
I would probably start with the same team except bring in Dendoncker for McGinn and ensure the full backs are kept in check.
A win will give us 7 from 7 and that's a better basis to kick on with Soton at home next.

A win and a draw frm the next 2, probably keeps Gerrard in a job. Think Southampton at home will be easier so a point would be OK. They still have several good players.

Statistically Leicester must be quite close to getting a result which bothers me. A run of five losses is rare. Six rarer still. Here's hoping though.

If we apply ourselves like we did on Saturday then we shouldn’t worry about them. It’s a huge game for us as it’ll show if we are moving in the right direction. Lose and I suspect the owners will pull the trigger. I think we’ll pick something up from the game.

For me the nature of the performance is more important than the result. If we play well, look interested, seem to have cohesion and appropriate tactics, I can take any result.

For me three points is more Important than the way we play, get a few wins together and confidence will grow which should lead to better performances long term.

They are playing with zero confidence and are poor at the back.

Draw

Theres nothing anywhere about Rodgers being sacked?
Need a win, id probably take a draw.
There a wounded animal and hard to imagine they’ll just keep on losing.

Id be tempted to bring Dendonker in for McGinn or start with the team after McGinn got taken off on Saturday.

2-1 (Watkins, Coutinhio)

                     Martinez

Young.         Konsa.  Mings.    Digne

                  Kamara.  Dendonker

                Luiz.           Ramsey

                Bailey.         Watkins

Not as far as I can tell.
