Martinez

Cash
Chambers
Mings
Dinge

Kamara
Luiz

Buendia
Ramsey
Bailey

Archer

Get some energy in the front line, three ball carriers to run at their back line, cut down on the full back overlaps. Archer as a surprise package. 2-1 Villa.

Barring injuries to both Watkins and Ings the chances of Archer starting is nil.

The symptom of a manager under pressure was a line up like last week's against Bolton. That should have had two or three squad players starting - enough to get past a 3rd division side. Even Dean picked a changed team against Chelsea last year and came close to winning.

Tbf Gerard hitting keys at random on a typewriter for an infinite amount of time would not result in that line up.

I for one don’t believe that Mings was injured. As we all know, things are not great with off the field matters and words were probably spoken and Mings was left out of the squad. I’m also one for giving Archer a starting place but, if not, at least give him half an hour. Being put on for 2 minutes is just going to drain him of any confidence. I know he won’t do it but I’d play Bailey as well as we really do lack pace in our team.

I'll take comfort in the fact then that Smith's not at the helm.

tbf if the film is anything to go by, titanic deckchairs show a lot more movement than some of the current players.

And Dean fucked up by not taking the cup seriously
We had no one on the bench Ings Watkins weren’t  even there we played well and should’ve won maybe we would have with better subs
Chelsea had Lukaku on the bench Who came on we had no one

I know we went out on penalties in the end but that’s what really pisses me off about managers they don’t take the cups seriously enough

Only saw us at Arsenal once. O'Leary was our manager and we didn't like him much and he liked us about the same.

Expectations were low and swiftly realised as they battered us 5-0.

"You can have O'Leary back" was the chant that I'll not forget from the Villa fans that day.

This has the makings of a similar kind of night for us.

I saw us lose 5-0 at Highbury on about 1991. David Platt ended up in goal.

I'll check the score at full time for confirmation of how bad it was.

Sadly, while we have given them a decent game in recent years, I think we have reverted back to our Premier League modus operandi for now and we're not in their orbit any more. Oh for a decent management team.
