Our tactics are based on John Carew being our centre forward. I can’t quite put my finger on why that is a problem.

Do we lose anything at all by putting Emi2 in McGinn’s position?

Albeit it was Man City, but yesterday I counted 7 of their own players in the opposition box for one of the goals.
We've got to get more bodies running into the box.

We're lacking a forward focal point, Watkins is on the left and Ings is doing a lot of running about with little consequence. Our forward structure is not good enough, Coutino is better today but we have had two shots on goal from a way out. Spam will change their line up and play better we will remain the same til the last ten minutes.

West ham are poor ,don't look like scoring, got no confidence,we should be winning a game like this 2 or 3 -0 . Yet we just haven't done enough,we look.so pedestrian,it's really missing the pace of Leon  and the nusiance and creativity of buendia .

We are just bland as fcuk
Yep. Our next kit should be beige

Best performance of the season so far. Comfortable all over the pitch, just need a bit more quality in the final third required.

Why was the goal ruled out?

The ball went out of play before swinging back in.

This has a feel of an Ollie Watkins 74th minute goal, followed by a crap 82nd minute, deflected Lanzini equaliser, about it.

We've got the two strikers constantly in the box, Cash and Digne (outside of that corner) don't cross it with enough height so it's easy for their CBs to clear.

There were some nice moments of link up between Coutinho and Luiz earlier on. That was encouraging. is Luiz and Kamara the way forward then?

We look good. I can’t square how well organised we look in the home games so far vs the panicky basketball of the away matches. We’ve controlled the game well and it’s clear we’re trying to get Watkins and Ings in down the channels after moving them in the middle.

The midfield looks SO much better balanced with Luiz and Kamara in there and not surprisingly it’s freed up McGinn to actually do what he does best and annoy the shit out of Soucek and Rice.

These, despite being in shit form, are still one of the most solid defensive teams in the league, so we’re never going to score 3/4. Just need to open them up once - primed for Buendia to win this for us.

Agree with this and your comment on Konsa and Chambers. The only thing missing is a bit more movement from the front two. Coutinho is having one of his better games but he's being forced to thread it wide where a cross follows where we have one player in the box against there back 3 or 4. Pointless exercise.

Yep - we actually have the ability to control the midfield when they play together. Kamara had one or two excellent moments of sniffing out danger which Luiz would never have done had he been the deepest midfielder.

I remember when Tactics Tim came in. For a brief period that was one noticeable and positive difference he made is that were overloading the penalty area in attack. An eternity ago now. But I genuinely can’t recall if when we have done that at PL level. Are we that concerned of the counter that we are afraid to send more bodies in through the middle to attack the ball. Opponents have to come back to defend it. We are always more hopeful than anything every time we send the ball forward than attacking with any real design.

With what we currently have at the club yes.

Ramsey has far more scoring threat than McGinn these days so he really should come back in at Arsenal as attacking midfielder of the trio.

If we still haven't scored then Buendia and Bailey should be on after 60 mins.
