I doubt glass bottles are a good idea in grounds.
They're plastic surely

In yesterday's heat came more fan abuse with parking at the social at £8 - up £2, a £90 matchday pass in the tavern, lack of staff in the Holte Suite, no selling of match day passes in the social (too busy) but you could go in to what is for all intense and purposes a public bar. Oh the joys of being a football fan

The service in the Bartons was poor again, it didn't seem that busy either.

mate made the point that with most people paying by card now after the pandemic and not giving a tip, have the experienced staff not returned because of the unsociable hours

It's not so much that more related to the way the staff man the bar. It happens in lot's of places, you're waiting your turn patiently but the staff serve everyone in a haphazard manner leading to someone strolling up and getting served immediately. It did get a bit fractious at times, the heat didn't help. To be fair, the staff were grafting but there's no decent organisation.

It was a bit of a struggle getting served even when the crowd had thinned out. The middle aged Thai barman (not Wichai) seemed particularly slow.

I've given up on the place, we were going to head in for a pint after but we went to Hockley Social instead, which had loads of room, good beer, food and fine music. What more do you want?

Never have that much of a problem after the game. I get two pints when I first arrive, if you're a quick walker there shouldn't be much of queue. By the time I'm ready for a third pint the queue has usually thinned out. It is a nightmare about a quarter of an hour after I arrive which is usually about when I'm ready for pint two if I don't double up on my first visit.

We went to the Sacred Heart after the game. It was hotter than Hell.

Proof, if proof be needed, that the Lord is a Protestant.

This doesn't concern drinking near *our* ground, but it's relevant if you ever want to drink on the way to Millwall, Palace, Fulham, Brentford or Chelsea (depending on where you start from).

I loathe knee-jerk anti-London nonsense. It's a wonderful city that I've loved spending much of my adult life living in. These pricks are slowly killing it.
