And I don't know that Mings is assured of a spot now either,

Quite telling that he went off at half time I thought, when Gerrard said that he wanted to give more players 60 minutes. Mings really needs to step up, he was crap today.

I really don’t like the, “X will be like a new signing..” saying but Leon Bailey this is your year son. Please take advantage of the opportunity and become a hero.

With that said, Ings and Watkins cannot be on the pitch at the same time. You know it, I know it.

That 4-3-1-2 he started with today just doesn't work, especially with Coutinho behind Watkins and Ings. It means the midfield 3 are sat too deep, and in front of them we have no pace or work rate to hurt teams.

Out of curiosity, did United make wholesale changes in the second half? We’re our players playing against their second/third teams?

They made a load of changes after about half an hour. We had taken control long before they removed most of their first teamers

Bournemouth has to be front 4 of Coutinho, Buendia, Bailey and Watkins, with a midfield of Kamara and Sanson, and Carlos and Chambers at CB.

Let's start positive and go for the throats - With the squad now at his disposal, the target should be 6pts against Bournemouth and Everton. Anything less is not good enough. UTV

I said it in another thread that we shouldn't write bailey off! He hit the ground running, got injured, rushed back and got injured again.
With a full preseason, a manager who likes to attack and the improvements made behind him he will be amazing for us this year.
Form is temporary but he is TALENTED! I expect him to be more important to us than Young was when he first arrived.

I agree football is a game of two halves. Being too lazy to click I am presuming that’s what he said.
The team didn't click in the first half.

Let’s see if Buendia starts the first game.
Can we get away with Coutinho, Buendia and Bailey together? I'd be excited to try it.
Yes why not! Would that be with Kamara, Ramsey and McGinn behind them?

Just said pre-season has gone well, was pleased with the 2nd half response, that Bailey made more than an impact in changing the game and that JLR make some of the finest vehicles in the world. Other than that not much.
Thanks. I am really warming to Steven now.

Credit to Bailey for the change in attitude. He often looked like he was deliberately playing within himself last year and many suspected fitness was an issue. We can't afford to write £30m off, so hopefully we're seeing what he can offer more consistently.

Well done to the manager for taking off some of the bigger names too, despite the 60 minute objective for game time. A squad ought to be competitive and I hope see Bailery and Buendia starting against Bournemouth.

Aye. I’m glad Bailery has stopped aying up at last.

From what Gerrard said, it sounded like Bailey didn't have any confidence in his body to stay fit and was thinking about getting hurt more than he was about playing. Hopefully that's a thing of the past.
