For all the money they take where the fuck was the PFA when they were needed?  Maybe still enjoying the TS Lowry painting on their walls they paid £1.6 mil for - cnuts

Maybe the PFA put him into rehab; we don't know.

Bit of a weird take. Who knows if they helped or if Beauchamp or any of his friends, family or former players reached out to them? I'm sure they would have helped had they been asked to do so. Trades unions* cannot be expected to know what is going on with every single current and former member. Given that Clarke Carlisle was head of the PFA not long ago, your implied suggestion that they don't care about mental health is, frankly, bollocks.

* I'm never sure what the correct plural of "trade union" is.

Man Utd fans from Manchester are still twats. I detest this new trend of just calling them United. Whenever I hear that from one of them I always ask which United. Twats to a man.
My dad's mate universally replies that he's a massive City fan, then proceeds to spend the next 5 minutes or so in a monologue about the last Oxford City game he saw ... then asks them what their favourite Joey Beauchamp moment was.

Beauchamp played for Oxford United not City. Unless I've missed the point as usual.

I looked him up on Wikipedia to check the very same thing. It was United. I was then also sad to discover that he recently took his own life, aged 50.

I remember him not settling at West Ham and moving to Swindon I think .  Didnt realise he had taken his own life very sad

Yes, very sad, I posted it on the 'Deathwatch' thread at the time.

Some ex-players speak positively of the help they've received from the PFA, others have been more critical. It might be a case of not knowing who to ask and of course, you can only help people who want to be helped.

Yes, you have.

I used to work with a bloke that played for Oxford City back in the day, and he gave me the shirt he swapped with Big Dick Edwards (not the poster of this parish, the real one) in a pre-season friendly.
It's a thing of beauty, pale blue with the claret collar, and the umbro label inside proudly states that they're suppliers to the European Champions Real Madrid.

Looking at the historical kits website it would be the 66-67 season kit

Still annoyed about Stanley Villa and Pinehill Villa changing their names tbh.
One of a number of oddball discoveries on this tour of Queensland, I give you the mighty Doon Villa from somewhere near Maryborough.

Great. He says in another tweet that game is likely to take place, but surely it's not worth taking the risk that somebody's going to get injured?

Well that's definitely a team I hadn't heard of! Seem to play in black and white

That s some Stadium. Capacity up to 65 000 acc Wiki. Wont be packed this time of season I guess but anyhow I will try to get a nice view somewhere riverside. Would be grat to beat them this time of year as we did two years ago (1-0?).
