If Traore and Bailey want to have some serious game time this season, they need to do a lot more than get the ball and pass it back to Digne or Cash.

Two wingers and two wing backs doesn’t work. Way too congested in those areas of the pitch and we are being left light in numbers in the middle in attack and defence

HT 0-0. The system of two wingers and two attacking full backs hasn’t worked

A friend who lives in Townsville who is at the game said it is 22c but with 80% humidity and feels like 35c. Its not the best conditions for football.

The problem with this shape is that we're getting loads of crosses in but only have 1 player in the box against 2-3 defenders. If this is any indication of what he wants to do this season we need a different striker because Ings just doesn't work as the sole striker when the support players are staying wide.

This is the back four that I would start against Bournemouth. Carlos looks assured in possession and I like Chambers distribution.
Still not sure about Bailey and unfortunately I don’t think Traore will start too many games this season.

Kamara is a class player.

Another tacky looking pitch too, not ideal for quick pass and move. Players needing to take a touch. We should be ahead but should also be down to 10 men.

It might if those wingers try to beat their man a bit more. It’s all a bit safety first and that against a third division standard of opposition.

Both pitches we have played on have had Rugby League games played on them a few days before, so not surprising that they are not in great condition.

It works for Liverpool.

Bailey and Traore played very narrow at times and drifted wide as needs be.  Just because we haven't lit it up doesn't mean the system can't work.

Konsa's back and Cam is on. We're gonna rip them to shreds this half.
