Is their a reason for the last game before the World Cup break (Brighton A) being on a Friday ?

I think Mountgate asked for more time with the players.

We're planning to make a weekend of it in Brighton. What's the nightlife like there?

Lots of decent boozers and restaurants in the Lanes. Generally safe and friendly. Hove side is a bit posher. Lewes is a lovely market town nearby too.

Judging by last year's timings, August and September TV games will be announced in early July.

This is a link to last year's announcement dates https://www.premierleague.com/news/2179225

Billie's Cafe has a lovely breakfast the morning after, and they do really nice hashes.

Worst possible time to play a promoted team. The first game will be tricky.

This is true, but out of the three promoted sides i’d rather play them away first.

If you like Ale, there are some pubs near the station that do a cracking pint of Harvey’s, or a Sussex as the locals say.

My comment was largely tongue in cheek (it'll be Dec) but cheers for the recommendations. Sounds like it's worth an overnight.

From the BBC website:

There are no meetings between the Premier League's so-called 'big six' on weekend of 12-13 November - the one before the World Cup - following a request by the Football Association.

Up to the other 14 clubs to pile in feet first?

I just can't follow the logic here at all, which is why I want it to go horribly wrong.

I'm sure that Mountgate and his squad of unexciting Roundhead footballers will ensure that it will.
