That is indeed sad news - I am hearing of more and more people diagnosed with this illness - our mental health is so fragile

What a shame, a wonderful player from our golden era. That’s two of that squad who have been struck down with this horrible disease.

Sad news indeed. Too many cases are happening. Colin was an excellent left back.

Very sad news indeed. Was only discussing the amount of ex-players with dementia before the game last night. Very good player for Villa.

Really sorry to hear this. He seemed a nice guy as well as a good player for us.

Gibbo was also a good midfielder in one of the earliest Manure teams under Ferguson.

Just read the BBC article about this, some worrying stats about dementia and footballers.

Very sad to hear that. A wonderful left back who has given great service to the Villa in his time. He was very unlucky to miss out being on the pitch in 1982.
Thanks for posting RE.

Sad news, Colin gave great service to Villa only in his early sixties as well.

Just after Gibbo joined United, I was in a pub in Brum and he was there.  We were messing around with a ball and passed it to Gibbo who proceeded to knock my pint over.  He was lovely about it and offered to buy me the pub, or was it just the pint!  Nice guy, such a shame.  A cure is required soon.
