Aston Villa v Tottenham Post Match Wake.

Okay for 40 minutes.  Gave up after the 2nd.  Defence shit.  Midfield terrible.  Forwards awful.  Not a good combination.

We had a likeable group of players for the first time in about a decade.

I am not starting to really dislike many of the players because they lose so many. I thought SG would make us tougher to beat but it seems not.

Piss poor. The managers tactics and style are terrible, we should have scored but you can see their confidence is on the floor.

It's stinks at the moment and I don't see much to spark any optimism at all.

Not a surprise to fall behind after a mistake. But we dominated the first half. After wasting all our chances, it was inevitable we would lose. This was such a Villa performance.

Watkins, Ings and Konsa drop to a new level of garbage.

Thought Coutinho and Ramsey were the only ones to come out with any credit.

Why Coutinho would want to stay with us next season is anybody's guess.

Has to be the most ridiculous 0-4 I’ve ever seen. More possession, loads more shots, more shots on target, loads more corners, more touches in opponent’s penalty area. But looks like they’re streets ahead of us on scoreline - they ain’t!

Not the worse player we've had by a long shot ( although his misses were terrible today) but Ings must be one of the worst signings for years.

That second half looked like the the second half of a manager about to lose his job.

He’s clearly not - but fuck me that was poor second half

The players need to take a lot of responsibility - but to me if you team is less then the sum of its parts there’s something wrong and I think that’s where we are.

They knew exactly what they were doing and are so far ahead of us as to be embarrassing.

Medals to all who stayed in the ground for the last 10 mins
After missing so many opportunities in first half, you knew what would happen
Which Villa player on the pitch today, maybe Phil would get in their starting line up

Wasted effort. Huge talent/skill gap between the two sides. We were pathetic in front of goal and gift wrapped and shipped 4 at home. Some might say the result wasn’t a true reflection of the match, but that was an arse kicking.

I’m embarrassed, and that makes 6 losses in or our last 9. My trust in SG is waning. Fixing the problem involves adapting and new ideas, and we just keep trotting out the same general XI getting pummeled every week.

Nothing good will come of the season at this point, another wasted year of anxiety and failure to meet expectations.

It’s clearer now than ever that the spine of the team needs replacing. Another CB, a DM, a clinical finisher and a wish that Coutinho is willing to resign.. which I can’t see happening at this point. Do we trust our recruitment team and SG to get it right?

We’re safe.. right?

I'm sorry, but today showed the difference between having a top manager like Conte and having a PR stunt appointment like Gerrard.  Spurs were under the cosh for virtually the whole first half, so he changes it.  Gerrard's response?  Rabbit in the headlights.  He's got to go.

We could have been out of sight in the first half if we had converted our chances they put us to the sword second half very disappointed.

Their front three are. Gave us a real masterclass in movement and clinical finishing.
