Agree with all of that. Lots of ins and outs needed this summer.

It really is depressing, the best thing about Villa at the moment is the owners but surely even they will eventually tire of the mediocrity and the waste of money. Wolves were without two of their better players but they had a game plan and were competent at carrying it out. Coutino looks lost anywhere but Villa Park and the more he sees of us the less chance we have of retaining his services. Not sure why some of the young players have not been given game time as we are not threatened with relegation, surely it's time to blood a few of them.

I’m not sure we need to go on a continual cycle of summer clearouts. That said I’m unconvinced about Gerrard to date. Tactically out thought yet again.

I agree with you Lovejoy. Good players do not become bad players overnight.  You can clear out every player in May but if the manager cannot use or motivate the players he has it will solve nothing. Steven Gerrard is the problem.  He may come good.  I hope he does come good but until he does, player clear outs will solve nothing.

Wish I could subscribe to the mass clear out being the solution to our problems. Yes new blood is required in the obvious areas but what I see is some form of problem with the culture. It doesn’t look healthy to me and I don’t think Stevie G has the experience to deal with it.
Arguably if that could be addressed then even our current squad could make an impact on the top half of the table. Wolves have got this right.

No mention of the initial slippage from McGinn. We're part of Stevie "Slippy" Gerrard's army, it was bound to bite us at some stage.
