I know it's unfair to judge Gerrard now and he needs to build his own squad and get at least a full season behind him, but there is something monumentally depressing about having been spoon-fed warm dog sick for almost every one of the last 25 seasons.

Not much less depressing is the inevitability of having written most of those seasons off when a little over 2/3s of the way through.

It's miserable.

We've had 1 shot on target which was from about 30 yards.

When Gerrard came in he wanted to play with both fullbacks really high because that worked in the farmers league, we constantly got exposed at the back on the break with just Konsa and Mings trying to defend against 4, so we had to bin that off.

Not really sure what we're trying to do today.

Most worrying thing for me is we already look like we've reached a plateau under this manager against every top 8 team we face.

Our record so far is very poor and we'll be playing a few more of them before the season is out.

Wolves are missing two of their best players aswell ffs.

I see a squad overhaul in the summer with a load of experienced players brought it and a 14th place finish next season.

Just feels a bit pointless to me, constantly spending 100m + every year just to produce same mediocre results when it comes to the crunch.

We just need better coaching. Wolves have played the same system for five years now and it shows when they can lose a couple of key players and yet squad players come in and know the formation.

People take the mick out of waiting for Mendes to find them players but they're not a club who spends as much as we do.

Any other club would come out and put Wolves under serious pressure to try and get back into it and force errors, we will come out pass it around slowly and go 3-0 down before 55 minutes.

The whole season has been such a massive disappointment. From pre-season, right the way through it has been a shitshow bar a slight up-turn with the new manager.
we never really recovered from that Greasy summer. Still a shambles

We had ample time to prepare as it was likely he was going and didn’t

Exactly.  We cannot keep pointing the finger at Grealish.  We've undoubtedly made progress since NSWE arrived, but we went into the season totally unprepared and bar one or two flashes of brilliance, it's been a bad season.

This is a piece of shit that's not worth polishing until the next window, it's that simple. We're only a couple of glaringly obvious pieces away from being solid but until then I'm off to bed, fuck this bullshit.

I feel for you folks close to the black country. Take care.

Precisely. Why this is so hard to accept I don't know.

Checking in from South Africa, wish I hadn't looked.

Heading back to the pool, grabbing a beer and ignoring Villa for a week methinks.
