On the plus side Ings won't be scoring for them.

Unless he scores an own goal  ;)

We don't need no Ivo Stas thing.

No Slovak stoppers, always injured.

Me and my lad are likely to be at the ground early this weekend, could anyone tell me what time the players arrive and if you are still able to get autographs or photographs from them?  Sorry to put this on here but couldn’t find the answer in the search and didn’t want to start a new thread.

The last time I walked past the area where the players park and sign autographs, it was all covered up so you couldn't see them but that may have been because of Covid. Not sure if that's still the case. As for the time they get there, I'd guess around 12-30- 1ish, unless Gerrard has them in at dawn.

The screening was indeed part of the Covid protocols but was removed at last game. Players arrive on coach between 12.15 and 12.45 usually and just before the opposition

High on the team talk hopefully...do not to concede any soft free kicks within shooting distance or near our penalty area. Someone has a good track record against us.

Best not play Luiz then, that's his speciality.

Thank you both.

9 changes to the cup side tonight. Shame. I was hoping for a full blooded cup tie at West Ham, a sending off and a couple of injuries. We will just have to beat them another way.

This s mental. Southampton are in no danger of relegation so why not play your strongest team?

There 14 points away above 18th, they really have no chance of going down. I do hate it when teams don’t  play a strong team in the cup, especially teams in mid table who have nothing else to play for.

As for Saturday, feels like it’ll be tough, bit Southampton do throw in some poor results now and again.

We owe them one at villa Park and the bad run at home against them can’t go on forever. A good old fashioned
2-1 Villa (Watkins, Ings) with both forwards scoring.

It drives me insane, but I guess we're baised as we havent won an FA cup since the 90s (or someother crazy stat).

Inexplicable putting out a weak team when no chance of relegation or Europe.

Didn't seem to cause them any problems tonight.

Indeed, they put out a half and half team and comfortably beat West Ham who were mostly at full strength.

Make no mistake they're bang in form and this is usually a very difficult match up for us.

That said got the feeling we'll come out firing and they won't be able to handle Coutinho and we'll run out 3-1 winners.

Our main problem v these is we always concede an early goal and have to start chasing the game which plays into their style so need to avoid that. Think this would be really good game for Sanson to start aswell.

Really like the look of Borja who they have upfront. If they haven't agreed a fixed fee with Chelsea, I'd be straight in with a bid end of season as fits the profile of what we need upfront. They can have Ings back.

Are there any plans by the club to show support for Ukraine prior to the game on Saturday?

I think there is a PL lead initiative, including something on the Captains armband. Apologies is this sounds vague, it was on SSP in the pub yesterday and I wasn't quite paying attention.
