We were marginally less shit playing a completely out of form Brighton side.

And did what we needed to do. Won. Happy days.

What happened to Carney Chukwuemeka? Not on the bench...

First 20 minutes it felt like it would be another long afternoon but Brighton did their usual of missing chances and Cash hit a very nice goal.

We did well to keep 11 on as that ref was one of the worst I've seen for a long time.

Second half was very comfortable, felt like we'd have seen it out 0-1 if needed but good Ollie finished off a one on one for first time in a while.

Onwards and perhaps upwards then. Life of a mid table team.

Aye, was thinking that.

I'm not going to give out about Luiz and McGinn so much as they prob need a break and have been playing like it recently. Played throughout the last two summers and will be playing this summer as well. It takes its toll.

But on that basis, all the more reason to see more from Chuck and Sanson.  Or to see of they can at least handle it.

Toronto has said everything I wanted to. I’ll just add that Cash should be fined for removing his shirt. Yes, I know it’s a heartfelt and sincere message but don’t remove your shirt. With the way the ref was dishing out yellow we were lucky he didn’t get another. Brighton are in a false position and Bravearse is back to his best.

I wonder if Buendia was being protected.  Didn't come on, although I guess he wouldn't do when 2-0 up.

A tough watch in the home end moaning about the time wasting and niggly fouls. I thought it went both ways and ref never had control. We weren’t great but took our chances. A win is a win.

Two cracking finishes, chuffed for Watkins, he could be in a wheelchair and he'd still do more than Ings.

Makes up for Watford doing the double on us

Still wouldn't have played that team but happy enough tonight

Mcginn was good today .Luis for a professional football is terrible at a simple pass .

Might give Watkins confidence as he really needs it .

Suppose buendia and bailey get time to recover .

Defence was good

I’d rather be sent off for making a gesture than hiding behind “rules and regulations”.

Support of Ukraine is s more important than a yellow, red card or defeat in a game.

I can see where he was coming from too but let's just enjoy today's win and get back to lambasting Putin.

Might have pissed people off but there is a point in what CCR is saying. I was dubious about starting 11 today, but there are people on the pre match thread today and other threads in recent days and weeks, calling for Gerrards head ffs, completely OTT.
I was in York for the weekend and travelling back when the goals went in, so haven’t seen the game. If people on here have said we didn’t play that well, fair enough, but Im not sure it matters at the minute. You can have all the tactics in the world, but sometimes football at every level comes down to confidence, at least up to a point. Lots of our players are low on confidence, most of all our strikers. So in summary I’m chuffed to bits and its just what the team and Ollie Watkins needed. Tough game against Southampton next week but aren’t they all, Watford drawing at Man Utd for example.
