Brighton 0-2 Aston Villa post match thread

The stats don’t tell the full story. We don’t hold the ball well at all. Almost 80% possession for them at times, and for long stretches. Ref fucking ruined the game with a series of stupid and needless yellows. But we did enough to win with two lovely goals; the second very much against the run of play. SJM MOM as he was everywhere in a defensive capacity. Douglas Luiz needs a very long stint on the bench. And well done young Tim Iroegbunam for making his debut.

A solid display. We look far better with Konsa in the team.

Only one shot on target for them though, as in the first game we were far more dangerous and took our chances. Fuck 'em!

Sloppy play at times, but a win is a win. Hopefully, this pushes us on into a little bit of form.

Doug needs hooking for Sanson next week, and Watkins/Ings were lacklustre for 90% of the match. Goal saved Ollie, and hopefully he can kick on from that.

Better but not great. I feel more optimistic that we are a work in progress rather than falling apart now though.

That'll do. Not great, and the result papers over a few cracks (eg Ings and Luiz are utterly terrible) but a welcome win anyway.

Many lorries are now making their way to the midlands laden with  humble pie. Mainly for people of this parish. The meltdown following the team announcement was ridiculous.  Me.. well I'm VTID

Didn't see the game but feared the worst when I saw the team selection. Good result and kicks us further into mid table mediocrity. Brighton defending for our second goal was pub league, mind.

Chuffed with the three points, I was dubious when I saw the line up but that was a proffesional performance.
