Shit team selection.

I never want to see Luiz picked again, and am getting to the stage where I never want to see Watkins picked again. Him and Ings up front is a load of crap, and Buendia should be starting.

Can see us having a poor game.

Buendia dropped is a shocker.

An alternate view is that Buendia and Coutinho together has created an imbalance elsewhere and that by dropping one of them (he cannot drop Coutinho) he could create more of a balance - but for me the problem is he’s bought the Ings/Watkins partnership back which is baffling - it doesn’t work FFS. I’d have been happy with him dropping Buendia to the bench if he had brought in Sanson to sit alongside Luiz allowing Ramsey, Coutinho, and McGinn to maraude around with one of Ings/Watkins up top.

It’s worrying we are seeing no real creativity or nous from Gerrard at the moment - stubborn, tactically unaware, both??

Distinctly underwhelmed. Yet again. Hope I'm wrong.

You won’t be.

I feel the same way. Let's hope Gerrard has seen something at Bodymoor Heath this week to justify the selection.

Blackadder:
It's the same plan that we used last time and the seventeen times before that.

Melchett:
Exactly! And that is what is so brilliant about it! It will catch the watchful Hun totally off guard! Doing precisely what we've done eighteen times before is exactly the last thing they'll expect us to do this time! There is, however, one small problem.

I'd say that his selections are hampered by somewhat of a lack of options, particularly in central midfield.  Don't like Ings and Watkins starting together, but Bailey has been pretty awful since coming back.

What the hell is wrong with everybody, calm down. I don't like Watkins and Ings up front anymore than others but we had 20 shots on goal last week and didn't test their keeper once. I'd have personally played the extra midfielder but let's see how it goes.

Watkins/Ings played together for over 30 mins of that game last week. I doubt they completed 5 passes to each other in that time. Watkins performance was a complete joke when he came on. Yet he gets rewarded with a start in a proven formation that does not work.

If things go badly today then Gerrard position starts verging towards untenable.

I think the game is starting on time. 3.30 is when we finally get going.

Watkins was shit last week .   Last week he took an extra touch and soft shot which the defender blocked and Watford scored straight after instead of hitting the fucker first time giving the defender no chance .

It’s just really odd.  Has he truly come to the conclusion that Buendia is the problem and a horrendously out of form Watkins is the answer?
