Just another quick reminder that the season hasn’t finished yet.
And that’s a terrifying situation with Gerrard in charge of next seven games.

Burnley will be two points behind us when they beat us twice.

Just another quick reminder that the season hasn’t finished yet.

I am firmly Gerrard in and he clearly has done better than Smith. However, we can all acknowledge that it has been disappointing since January. If anything, we were doing better before the big signings made in January.

How has he clearly done better than Smith?
Yes that’s laughable comment. The only thing I can think of is that he has not managed to get sacked so far so he’s done better than Smith.

Such snide comments. We had 10 points after 11 games with Smith. We took 26 points from 20 under Gerrard. Not great but marginally better and let's just ignore the second half of last season shall we?

Yes marginally better after adding two world class players to his squad which is NOT clearly better.

So not exactly clearly then

My tickets came today, I'll send them back. Thanks for the heads up.

You are most welcome.  Norwich will be a draw as well in case you’re interested.

I have to admit I'm starting to get a little concerned....that I might be trampled in all the backtracking that will be going on next season when we're doing well.

I dont think there's much point in comparing with last season as the huge floppy haired elephant in the room gets factored in. But we took 1.4 points per game from the final 10 after a dismal 2 points in March, starting with that defeat to Sheffield United, who had 10 men and only took 3 more points for the rest of the season.

It makes more sense to look at the season given the content of the squad is comparable and the issues ro hand are comparable. Gerrard has 1.3 compared to Smith's 1.1. Its narrowed as we've had a very poor end to March and start to April points wise with these 4 defeats.

You predicting Burnley beating us twice and equaling 40% of their wins this season and then Norwich finding a draw is definitely something. It's not interesting, but it is something.

We need 4 points I feel to be clear of any relegation threat. I think Everton look the most vulnerable now for that 3rd spot.....

Leeds have enough points now, which is lucky for them given their run in. Everton will just about do it. Burnley are fucking terrible, taking 0.8 points a game and have been dire for years. Hopefully they flush and don't come back.

I dont see any point in comparing them, as we cant change it now.  But I dont think it is right to say that they had similar issues - Gerrard has had Dinge and Phil - and Dean had a load of injuries where I think SG has had less disruption.

Similarly you cant discount Dean with Joe, as we have have about 7 new players since he left.

Its pointless comparing - Dean did a very good job for us overall, but we have SG now and hopefully he'll move us on.
