Anybody starting to get worried…… again?
« on: February 19, 2022, 09:24:27 PM »
Back to working out where points will come from and the bottom3’s fixtures.

I’ve had a nagging doubt we could get dragged into this since Brentford away, now it’s more than a doubt.

No.

I'm disappointed that Europe is gone already, but I'm not relegation worried.

The worry is that something has taken place behind the scenes and there is disunity in the camp.
Something is not right.

I think you could be right, I noticed on a few occasions today the players having a go at each other and looking really pissed off.

Something is not right.
This whole season has had the air of something just not being right.

ROK and Terry leaving in the summer
Deano persisting with 3/5 at the back having never shown an inclination for that beforehand
The Danny Ings signing & obviously-not-going-to-be-accepted bids for Ward Prowse, Bissouma, and Smith Rowe
The feeling that something wasn't quite right under Dean Smith
The same feeling under Gerrard
Players having a go at eachother under Smith
And under Gerrard
Passing notes about

There's probably other stuff that I've forgotten about. But it does feel to me like something is off.

Maybe our owners are more hands on than we know.

We should be looking over our shoulder because Watford and Burnley are capable sides.  I know they are bottom three currently but they have some good players at Watford and Burnley are tough to play against.  Ourselves and Everton are in bother.  We stink.  Several players not playing well.  Gerrard is honest with the press but I wonder whether he has already lost some of the players.  Some of the performance are nearly as bad as the Remi Garde era.  Why the fuck we didn't bring in a DCM, even on loan is a shock.  I'm sick of being crap.

Not really worried about relegation. I think we’ll be dragged into the fight but we’ll survive by the odd point.

Not sure where points are going to come from now that the players have largely stopped performing and SG starts sulking once we’re losing but……

Oh and I think we'll actually do better against teams that want to attack and win as they will be more open.

I'm not worried. We will stay up comfortably but most likely lower placed than last season and almost certainly with fewer points

The last couple of weeks have been shite, but its not anything near 2015/2016, over dramatic to say it is. Its not even as bad as pre covid 2019-20, Leicester away anyone, 1-6 to Man City at home on that dire Sunday afternoon, the last minute loss to spurs after Engels let one go under his foot.
Id say we need 3 wins and 3 draws, so could afford to lose another 8 games and still not go down. Obviously that would be a dire end to the season, but we do need some perspective here.

Agree.
I'm feeling much more confident about the next two fixtures where the games will be far more open.
