I just read ( but haven’t checked ) that he’s been in goal for a quarter of our clean sheets in the league this season.

He did well yesterday  and should be praised. but i still dont rate him as a keeper. First  half he made a embarrassing  fumble again that luckily didnt cost us.

He just does not command his box a key ingredient  for a keeper

I put my head in my hands early on, when he picked up what was so obviously a back pass from Disasi. The fact it was a back pass was broadcast by Olsen, who initially stopped the ball with his foot, and then only picked up the ball after hesitating and seeing their forwards closing in on him. We were very lucky to get away with that.

It’s less impressive when put like that.

He played well Saturday night, his one ticket thankfully never cost us a goal at 0-0, was brave when he hurt his back and still kept trying.I'm not his biggest fan but he did well.

My usual confidence when I see his name on the team sheet varies between having more confidence in Trump being responsible for the nuclear button, and trusting Watkins in a one on one with a few seconds for him to think about what he's doing

Interestingly, the officials didn't think like you did. And therefore there was no fortune at play.

He poked the ball away from the attacker, rather than picking a pass. It would have been ridiculous to have given it as a pass.

That Olsen controlled it with his foot before picking it up is immaterial.

I agree that it wasn't a backpass but I just don't trust officials to not give things against us so I'd rather he hadn't picked it up.

In those situations the keep looks at the ref before his plays it (if there is time obviously) and the ref will indicate that he can pick it up.

Although the tv angle did not show this i would be sure that he had the nod prior to picking it up.
