The Premier League aka 'The Greatest League In The World' is currently being run away with by a team that takes away spontaneity, joy, excitement and jeopardy and replaces it with a passionless, ruthless, relentless dirge.

A team that complains about the tiredness of their players when they have a £100 million player getting splinters in his arse on the bench...and they don't have the wit to see it.

A team owned by an oil rich nation state that believes that they exist in a level playing field.

Watching Man City in the flesh it is impossible not to be impressed by their grim technical superiority whilst at the same time feeling all of the oxygen being sucked out of the stadium so that fans watching them are rendered speechless, struggling to breathe, scarcely sure whether they are actually still alive.

Man City present a fascistic version of football, a brutal destructive evil force which if left unchallenged will destroy everything in its path.

Villa by contrast are wonderfully imperfect, a living, breathing embodiment of life itself in all of its messy, unpredictable, sometimes appalling, sometimes wonderful glory.

Villa is alive and long may it be so.

I am beyond ranting.  As a Villa fan you know it is completely pointless. Like shouting up a drainpipe. Our chairman is a Liverpool worshipping prick whose only skillset is that of a PR fixer.  Instead of addressing the turmoil that the trolley dash with the Ratboy's money created, Trolley Dash MkII will be trumpeted to raise fans' morale so that Gerrard can have more expensive stuff to play with. The blindingly obvious truth that football clubs improve from the bottom up is utterly incomprehensible to them.

And that's one of the big disappointments of the season for me. I thought we were building from the bottom up, engaged on a long-term project that everyone from owners down had bought into. But in reality we're a football club like any other.

No matter what playing or coaching staff we have even with decent owners the end result always seems to be the same.so much hope and hype from the Club and talk of a return to European Football which always ends in Disaster.

We splash out ridiculous money on Players who never turn out to be that good and then when we change managers we then start saying the players aren't good enough....repeat

Getting very predictable now. I guess Everton fans feel he same

We’ve been going around the country snapping up all of the brightest young talent. That they didn’t come on yesterday doesn’t detract from the fact that this is clearly a long term project.

I loved football, unconditionally, until the emergence of Man City's oil billionaires. Slowly, and steadily, my passion for the game deserted me in the 2010s. That lot being able to take our best player every year just sickened me.

2017-18 rekindled my love of the game as I was mesmerized by Joe's ability. A local lad leading us back to glory. Yes, the playoff against Fulham was tough but I was hooked again. With the new owners, Joe sticking with us and subsequently the journey with Smith I felt maybe we would be the club to show that there was still room for a Roy of the Rovers type story in modern football.

But no. The events of summer 2021 have shown that there isn't. Even a so-called 'one of our own' who supposedly bled claret and blue can be pinched from us by those bastards. I think we are all still in shock and I just hope the club can get the narrative back on track.

*if Newcastle end up staying up and pulling the same trick as City I think I am done as it's not the same game I grew up with

heh. We have a winner!
I didn't know it was a competition. Hold my coat love....
I fucking hate Small Heath. Just one look at St Andrews, that crumbling monument to misery and failure makes me feel sick. The sight of it makes my eyes bleed. The sound of it makes my ears curl. The smell of it makes my nostrils burn and the thought of it makes me want to throw up. It's a festering carbuncle on the face of the earth.

There was no more evidence of this than yesterday. Traore starting, Trez coming on as sub, so many youngsters on the bench and not one of them called upon.
All the talk since is who we need to replace and buy.
It will be interesting to see how many of our youngsters come through in the coming seasons.

Can we rant about anything? Good.
Chelsea, always hated them, always will. Grew up in Surrey everyone was a Chelsea fan, we even had Ron 'Chopper' Harris running a newsagent in his retirement near to us. Hated going there more than Upton Park even though Chelsea was slightly less racist and slightly less likely you'd get filled in before, during or after. They epitomise everything I hate about modern football in the Sky era, a wealthy owner who has no real interest in the game other than making sure his money is laundered successfully, fanbase of Johnny come lately's who wouldn't know who Kerry Dixon was, Kerry Dixon, Tim Lovejoy, Dennis Wise, The Shed, a Chelsea Brick, Full Kit John Terry, Ken Bates, the list is endless.

I struggle with this a bit. Young players are getting opportunities in and around the squad, but it doesn’t mean spending a fairly substantial sum in improving weaknesses in the squad isn’t required. Feels a bit like whatever approach the owners, CEO, or manager takes they’ll be damned.

My rant is that the governing body of our game that is supposed to ensure the integrity of proffessional football in England has over and over again failed in  its first duty. When City were allowed to be bought by what is another country they did nothing, when a russian oligarch bought Chelsea they did nothing and now they turn a blind eye when someone who most of the world believe was behind the murder of an innocent journalist buys Newcastle just proves that there is no integrity left, no matter what you have done if you have the money you can buy a premiership football club. They should be named and shamed.

Just f***ing once would it be possible to go to an away day to Brighton without Southern twatting trains deciding to dig up some all-important bit of bloody track for the millionth time? First time in ages we're playing them at 3pm on a Saturday, and it's still gonna be an absolute ball-ache there and back.
And that of course is on top of Newcastle station being some sort of train black hole on the weekend we play them.
And on the back of ridiculous bloody kick-off times, like the Friday 8pm in Southampton (no trains post game) and of course next Monday at *checks notes scrawled so aggressively you can read them twenty pages later* 7.55pm (haha, what's a train?).
Screw you BBC. Screw you Sky. Screw you Southern Trains. Screw you LNER.
3,851 miles I've done so far this far following this side. And these twats don't make any of it easy.

I'd like to rant about you lot and this thread.
OK so we lost to a club normally so low down the football pyramid that even in the early 70s we didn't need to play them.
Now you all want Gerrard sacked. Before he arrived none of you wanted him here and you said you were underwhelmed, but we get him so you all say you're whelmed, he gets a couple of results and you're all overwhelmed and we're heading for the chumps league. But now we lose to Fulham reserves (again) and you're all weepy about the good old days with Deano.
That highly respected Arsenal legend David O'Leary was right, you're all fickle !
