It might be wise for the clubs to put together and get a testing lab up and running that returns the results the same day. Or take a 2 week break and have footballers back in bubbles on return.

FFS make it mandatory for players to get vaccinated and then play the game regardless of positive tests. Premier League need to sort this out.

Day four of isolating with COVID and I am climbing the walls. Finding a dodgy stream to watch the game was going to be the highlight of today.

Could more be done to protect outbreaks at clubs inc educating players on the value of vaccines and quicker test turnarounds?

I was really looking forward to it even though a few of our usual suspects had dropped out for a number of reasons. Still, I can now concentrate on finishing off the assembly of this wardrobe. 🤥

They test the players the day before the game & don’t get the results until the morning of the game. So if they get more positive results I don’t see how they could tell us earlier.

It’s probably for the best.

Yep I it was within 3hrs PCR (obv on-site labs) that stopped me travelling 72hrs in advance, but presumably it might have been PCR tests swabbed first thing today.

It's disappointing that it has been left so late. People travel from all over the country to support Villa (and other clubs). Why wasn't this done yesterday?The Burnley fans won't be happy. The club should re-imburse fans (including the Burnley fans) travelling long distances. They won't be so lax again.
