Today has been embarrassing - small time.

Fucking hate Man City we haven’t laid a glove on them.

Let’s see how SG handles this - not something he’ll have had to deal with before

My money is on Lange being gone at the end of the season - recruitment this summer was awful

Yes i have to agree on lange. Baileys got something about him but fucking hell what a weakling.

Buendia shit.

Ings not a bad player but hasnt settled

Only one id say has been a success is young

As a seasoned tactician I'd get Davis up with Watkins and try to play over the press.

Emi flapping
You are kidding?  Unstoppable.
No, great move and goal.  But saveable

Seriously?  Saveable yes but only if it hits him which it could have done but didn't.  I'll criticise Emi for some of the goals conceded this year but that was a worldy.

They are light years ahead but if we could make a final pass we could’ve opened them up. Hands up for their 2nd, stunning.

It's been a Dean Smith performance

Once, just once I would like us to lay a glove on these.

Way, Way too much respect shown the whole game.  Get a fucking tackle in FFS.

Can't get close enough to them unfortunately.

Targett ducking out of the first, Mings going walkabout for second...but the quality gap between both teams is the same as last season.

We actually had a few decent breaks at times but Bailey in particular took the wrong options. Buendia trying hard but nothing coming off. Think there is a risk we could take a right hiding if we open up second half, especially with what they have to come on.

Mings was so slow getting back then.

FFS

What the fuck? He’s one player trying out there. Him, Cash and Nakamba seem up for it.

No need to get all defensive of him. I'm just stating he pushed up a bit to far and seemed slow to react to the initial ball. I watched it back and he didn't seem to react. Great goal but I call it how I see it.

Been given a lesson here, they keep the ball so well and we just gift them it far too often, very poor by us. This is also not the game to fanny about in the box either.

Bailey seems to have a big issue with his thighs and judging by his reaction he knows it. See him in a few months I guess.

Bailey is an enigma wrapped in a myth.
Buendia is just a horrible waste of money by the look of it.
Agreed

I've got covid and I could do better than Buendia tonight. Final ball is what's letting us down. I think defensively we are OK but just tentative with the ball when we do actually get it back.

Not sure about that. I remember Smith's Villa being very brave and going toe-to-toe against Man City, especially in our first season back. Let's not re-write history.

Buendia's decision-making is horrendous.

I remember talking to a Man City fan in Tenerife about twenty years back and him saying Villa was one of the first away games they always looked for when the new fixtures came out because they always win here and its never been anything but before or since - their record down here is just fucking disgraceful even when they were shite.
I just fucking well loathe the steaming pile of mancunian ratshit.
