A sharp learning curve for SG. Not sure how this match will pan out (a draw wouldn’t be a bad outcome) but hopefully he’ll learn a lot from it.

3-1 to us. Don’t care who scores but the so called “new manager bounce” will see us through

The result, while not irrelevant, won't define the new managers Villa career and it's the line up and approach that will tell us much more.

At home, at 3 should help us over the line but it might be a bit of a struggle with all the changes in the last 2 weeks.

1-1

I'm banking on the new manager bounce to see us over the line. 3-2 to us in a chaotic game. Brighton attack at pace and in numbers and we're dodgy at the back this season so can't see us keeping a clean sheet.

The Gerrard factor should mean we're first on MotD regardless of the score though.

Nakamba is Blues. It will be a blessing if we don't have him on the pitch continually giving the ball away. I don't want to see Nakamba, Young or Tuanzebe near the side or McGinn hampered by playing too deep. That would be a good start.

With brand new managerial bouceability and for no other reason whatsoever (better to be lucky than good) our two forwards discover how to play together forming what will be become a lethal and legendary striking partnership.  ;D

Us 7   Wakins(3)   Them 0
          Ings(3)
          Nakamba

All the goals are scored mid way through the second half and I go flying to the top of Louzies Guess the Goal table. (Better to be lucky than good).  8)

So, who plays deep from the current squad?

Luiz or Ramsey. If one of the midfield 3 needs to drop deeper, I’d have Luiz doing it, with McGinn and Ramsey playing their natural game and driving at Brighton.

            Martinez
Cash  Konsa   Mings   Targett
McGinn   Luiz    Ramsey
Bailey   Ings   Watkins

Surely this is our best team?  Buendia interchangable with Bailey & Wakins

Sanson is a better player than Ramsey for me right now.

He wasn’t in the training pictures on Monday though.
