Antonio v Mings. Whose your money on?

Mings will be fine in a back 4 next to Konsa. 3 x CBs needs all of them to have the ability to play ball which evidently doesn't suit Mings.

The corner that lead to Arsenal's first goal came about because Konsa and Cash were clueless as to who their man was or where they ought to have been. It's a shoddy set up, stick to what we know.

You seem to be a bit Jekyll and Hyde at the moment.

The irony. You seem to say one thing on here and then something completely different to your West Ham chums.

Greetings Villans.

I'm surprised to see so much pessimism here. From the outside looking in you seemed to do some decent business in the summer with signings coming in. I caught bits of the 3-0 vs Everton the other week and you looked good. You seem to be a bit Jekyll and Hyde at the moment. Is the manager not sure of the best team? Injury problems? Ings and Watkins certainly looks like good options for a pair of strikers.

West Ham will almost certainly line up 4-2-3-1, with the same team as vs Spurs last week. Coufal may come back in after injury.

I see a lot of discussion above re 3 at the back or 3 in midfield to counter West Ham - 3 in midfield would be more effective IMO. Spurs did this last week well, it disrupted the flow in midfield and hampered counter attacks. Where they failed is none of their 3 ball winners were creating anything, and their attackers offered nothing. I can't help but feel Watkins will be itching to score after VAR disallowed one by the length of his hair at our place last season. I certainly can't see Villa sitting back and looking to counter at home, surely the fans won't stand for that?

Still, best of luck today and for the season.

Which one of your faces is that coming out of?

Hause.

Mings is fine dealing with Antonio who is over rated. And only scored one goal vs Villa.
Like chiellini and bonucci would have no issue with him.
Villa will deal with him and actually Antonio isn't even 6ft so it's a myth he's called a big man.

Antonio is strong and wide, doesn't need height to bully defenders. And Mings in the same breath as Bonucci and Chiellini??

We win 2-1. Injury time winner, after we go behind in the game (Watford home win/Konsa vibes)
That'll be nice. Will be a better journey home on the first evening after the clocks go back than otherwise!

Do I? I said the exact same thing on KUMB. It doesn't seem apparent whether Villa will show up or not. Good performances seem to be followed up by bad ones.

Are you still upset because I described Villa as a one man team on KUMB last day of the 19/20 season when you nearly went down at the LS?

Gone for a draw, I think we'll come out positive and aggressive but risk getting caught ont he counter.

1-1 Bowen and Watkins with the goals.

Just about to set off for Villa Park.  Looking forward to this one, just hope that there have been some frank conversations during the week and we will be more organised and solid.
