It is oh joy! Now I’ll go read it and see if Dave has used the spell check, not sure if you have an idealogical opposition?!

Great read Dave, I do value your write ups.

Moving on from sincerity, I especially enjoyed the headlinse for a starty, and value the reminder not to expect instart success.

I also think that Dean won't let his players get carried away and all bigheaded about it all.  No arrogance here guv.

Great piece. I think you have written it many times, but this intangible thing of behaving like a big club is so important. Going to places like Old Trafford and believing that we have a chance. I suppose we are only able to believe this because there has been incremental improvement in our squad over the last 3 years. This is obviously down to the owners investing in us, but also the manager instilling quiet confidence, and improving the players at his disposal.

I share your optimism, Dave. I remember seeing Ron Saunders's team of 1979-80 developing and feeling that they could really go places. I feel the same about this team.

Hope not. Consistency always seems to be the key. Within one or two matches of a result like this, we then seem to throw it away against "lesser" opposition. The next two home games after Liverpool last season we lost 3-0 to Leeds and 4-3 (Although 4-1 at 90 mins) against Southampton. We then beat Arsenal away comfortably and lost 2-1 to Brighton.  If we have learnt from those games, then hopefully we can go on one of those runs where the top four place is for us to claim, especially with Leicester and Spurs seemingly shitting it early this season.
