McGinn out just highlights the need for a new CM. How anyone at the club can’t see this is beyond worrying. Nakamba, Luiz and Ramsey is a bottom 3 midfield

I don't agree with that. Nakamba isn't top half material but he played well enough to help best Spurs and Chelsea. Luiz is a Brazilian international. Ramsey, if the last two appearances are anything to go by, looks perfectly at home in the division. It's not a relegation midfield - it's just not at all top 6.

I’d argue that those couple of Nakamba performances were the exception to the rule. Reason he’s failed to establish himself in the starting 11 at any point over last two seasons - don’t think he’s anywhere near good enough.

We needed that DM upgrade to then have the likes of McGinn, Luiz, Sanson, Ramsey to all play alongside

Being not good enough for top half doesn't mean relegation. In the right system he could be basically fine for staying up. It's just we've been told we have bigger ideas than that.

The problem with all 3 is their ball retention. It is what it is though. We have lost the player that could play forward passes that no one else could see and that element we have not replaced. If mcginn is out tomorrow it will be interesting to see how we play.

I'd be tempted to start Bidace. He's got something about him. Lively. Picks a pass. Beundia doesn't quite look sharp enough yet. He might benefit from the break.
Archer deserves a place on the bench.

There's no chance Buendia's going to get dropped, it would make everybody associated with the transfer look a proper charlie.

I would also suggest that Buendia is only going to get sharper by playing.

Actually looking forward to Luiz in slightly more advanced midfield role, he plays there for Brazil and also come on v Spurs late last season and played really well on the counter attack, keeping the ball and making the right decision when to pass.

Think he'll surprise a few if he's played as an 8 tomorrow.

Sorry is it a definite McGinns out? Can’t see anything anywhere about it?

If Twitter rumour is to be believed then Ramsey, McGinn and Young are out with Covid and Mings is injured

If that's true Vinnie, I can honestly say that I have never looked more forward to an international break than this one because that potential side is a relegation candidate.  Bailey, Sanson, Watkins can't get back quick enough.

Others are saying its not true, but Villa rumours appear to have a rule lately. If its shit, its true.

So much bullshit posted day before games these days. I’ve not heard from my contact anything at all on it (I’ve not asked either)
