If McGinn was out, would they have risked Marvelous for ninety minutes in the week? That's what I'm clinging to.

Then again, this is Villa. Any shite injury/illness rumour is always true.

Shock, horror, DS confirms injured players may make an appearance after the international break. Don’t hold your breath as we all know how this ends up….unless they’re to Man.City of course when miraculous recoveries are made. Shin splints, what shin splints??

Looking forward to it. First game since Jan 2020 and last minute winner v Watford so will spend next 24 hours calculating how many days that's been (or just take 20 seconds to work it out on Google).

Get the feeling it will be one of those bad first half and 2 down before we come roaring back in second half type games. Can see it being 2-2 with us having chances to win it.

Ollie on the bench would be a big help for that.

One issue is we've been really slow at getting into games so far. Enough said about Watford but we were poor first 25 minutes v Newcastle and lucky not to be one down before we got into it. Really can't afford that tomorrow as Brentford are full of confidence and not conceded a goal yet.

For me it's just a day to be enjoyed given I didn't go last week so hopefully performance is alright.

McGinn covid rumour floating around given there were about 16 positive tests in the prem this week. See if he gets pulled out of Scotland squad shortly.

Ramsey played well enough last weekend and think Luiz will do well in more advanced role with a sitter behind him so think midfield just depends on what side of the bed Nakamba gets out of as he dosen't half put in some random performances if he has a run of starts.

If mcginns out chuk starts for me

Ramsey and Carney with just Luiz for protection against one of the most aggressive sides in the league? In the year when they've relaxed the tackling rules?

There's two tickets on the website for Brentford if anyone is after one.

I am really getting f***** off with our injury situation. The season is two games old.  How can we have so many injuries?  What are they doing?

I think, apart from Sansom who seems to be cursed, a lot of the injuries are for players who were on some kind of international duty over
the Summer. Annoying but predictable.

We have an excellent league record against this lot in the top division.

P 6  W 5  D 1  L 0  F 20  A 7

OK Pongo Waring scored the winner in the first and Trevor Ford in the last but nonetheless.

We're talking about bruised knees and hamstring strains.. not ruptured tenders. GTFO there.

We could have Messi, Ronaldo etc and would still struggle against these.  If we win it will be tight.  Expecting a draw hoping for a goal fest in our favour

Richard, I know what you are saying about international duties but, players from other clubs hit the ground running from last weekend!! Our training ground has obviously been cursed by the Blues’ gypsies!!

No pics of SJM training. You can normally guarantee at least one of him with a big grin on his chops.

So I’m going to assume he’s out tomorrow as well. He’ll be a huge miss.
