Better formation, I am assuming McGinn plays further up the pitch and Ramsey and Luiz sit back. Fancy AEG to score today.

I'd hope Luiz is sitting and McGinn and Ramsey both have licence to get forward rather than 1 of them being told to stay deep, we know what McGinn can do when he gets forward and Ramsey was at his best in the U23s when he was breaking into the box from deep.

Maybe I've missed something, but when has Ramsey ever played as a 6? He came on as an 8/10 last week and good thing too, as he's way too lightweight to hold down the midfield in a two. He's played at 8, he's played at 10, and even wide on occasion, but as a holder?

Luiz as 6 surely, Ramsey slightly ahead of him.

McGinn surely must play as most advanced of three given how well he took his goal last week. Feels like Ramsey would just take too many chances getting in the box and just make wrong decisions whereas McGinn will get shots away.

Is Bailey simply unfit at the moment?

It would make more sense to have McGinn and Ramsey in there as they could cover the other on breaks forward while keeping the centre a bit stronger. Neither of them is suited to being partner in a deep two. 4-3-3 surely.

I'd hope it's a 4141 with the 4 in midfield all given the chance to get close to Ings. I'd hope we put pressure on a weak defence and rookie keeper though. If we get too deep we play into their hands because every decent player Newcastle have today is attacking.
