Squad numbers
« on: August 11, 2021, 10:45:51 PM »
Sorry if I have missed this but I am looking to get a shirt for my son. Usually on the club shop site you automatically choose a player and number. This is unavailable now so just wondering if they have been announced for the new season or not. TIA

I don't think they announce the full list until shortly after the transfer window closes. They have confirmed some though...

1 - Emi Martínez

3 - Matt Targett

8 – Morgan Sanson

10 – Emiliano Buendía

18 – Ashley Young

20 – Danny Ings

Nice that our actual 1-11 is a plausible first team. Nearly.

Only room for 1 more player then. Looks like we're finished buying

Well is that not our squad of 25 plus youth players? I make that 24 places, so unless we sell anyone we have 1 space left

I very much doubt we'd be as obvious with a "bomb squad" as in previous regimes. I wouldnt read anything into squad numbers right now, it makes sense to have registered anyone available, even if the plan is to sell them before the end of the window

Wesley as nine? A waste of an iconic Villa number given he'll be off out on loan in a couple of weeks. Can numbers be changed mid-season? Give it to Danny, if so.
