Any one fancy predicting the Watford starting 11....

Heard Will Hughes is training with their under 21s as he dosen't want to sign a new deal. Palace looking at him.

Usually with Watford they sign about 10 randoms from Spain and Italy but they haven't done that much business so far.

Their squad really wasn't that bad when they went down, just a bit old and complacent so they'd done stuff like taking out Ben Foster and putting in Bachmann in goal who had a good euros for Austria. And likes of Joao Pedro upfront instead of Deeney although he'll inevitably be lurking on the bench to unnerve us.

Sarr still there so him v Targett will be a good battle. Also signed Danny Rose and Joshua King so usual prem journeymen all promoted sides get in.

Their midfield is much much weaker than what they went down with. With Hughes in exile their options are:

Peter Etebo (on loan from Stoke)
Tom Cleverley (no he hasn't retired)
Ken Sema
Nathianel Chalobah
Dan Gosling
Juraj Kucka (just signed him from Serie A)

Massively disappointed if likes of McGinn can't dominate that.

Just seen on their forum they're interested in Nakamba. Think that will be a decent move if we can get a DM in next three weeks.

According to this Josh King and Pedro are injured so they'll be going with two unproven strikers upfront:

I quite
We will be missing at least three key players...

Buendia
Bailey
Luiz

And how fit are the likes of Sanson or Traore? Hardly fit enough to start surely....might be the day to give three at the back a go as options out wide and in midfield seem very light. Always have the option of bringing in likes of AEG and Traore off the bench.

------------------Martinez
-------Konsa, Tuanzebe, Mings
Cash, Ramsey, Nakamba, Targett
-----------------McGinn---------
------------Ings, Watkins

Subs from Steer, Hause, Young, Traore, AEG, Wes, Sanson, Hourihane, Chucky, JPB, Guilbert
[/quote I quite like the look of that setup BB

Villa have now joined West Ham and Newcastle as delusional fans who think they are massive clubs because they get 40k+ fans but seem to blind to the fact that none of them have won anything since colour tv ( apart from Villas flukey European cup win

Still sour cos we poached Sir Graham Taylor off them I guess.

Bit strange to deride our success in the 80s, which coincides with the only successful period (runners up in League and Cup) for Watford.

Who tf are Watford, a club that has never won a thing, to make claims about anyone's delusions?! Pipe down and take your beatings.

Another of those clubs who scuffed their way into the Premier League, discovered fifteen thousand new supporters and think they're our equals. Before Sir Graham they were Walsall without the market.

Clueless twat (not you, eamonn!). That's what makes us massive, the fact that we do command those attendances and the lustful glances of billionaires despite having won fuck all in a generation.

Our history is one “flukey European cup win” and not being relegated by Goal Line tech.

I don’t know how we even sleep at night.

Our head to head history against Watford isn’t great. Played 21, won 8, lost 8, drew 5.

My favourite game was the 4-1 cup victory against them in 83. They had to put black tape over their shirt sponsor

How come?

I think the game was chosen for MOTD highlights and shirt sponsors weren’t allowed on tv at the time. They must’ve packed the wrong shirts
