England today, but for 364 other days I'd sooner Villa won.

I was talking about this last night, and while I think England winning would be brilliant, lay a few ghosts to rest and generally put smiles on faces all over the nation, it doesn't feel vital to me in the way a Villa trophy would. I can't imagine getting a Euro 2021 commemorative tattoo, say, but could easily be persuaded to get a Villa FA Cup one. Millions of people will witness a joyful event if England win, and it'll be a JFK moment, but it'd be thousands only who care about a Villa trophy and that means a whole lot more to me somehow.

I eat, sleep, breathe and my principal reason for existence is to support Aston Villa.  The national team and the hysteria surrounding it is a media creation.  I am more interested in whether Mark Cavendish beats Eddy Merckx's record in the Tour de France than whether In gur land win today.

Amazing achievement if he does after all he's been they last few years.

I've had to turn the TV off. Sick of the England hype already. Win shrug. Lose shrug. Unless Jack gets the winner.

Enforced jollity. Like being told to smile at work because it's Christmas.

Probably the most pointless thread on here, ever.

But thank God we did. Best defeat in the club's history and even though it didn't feel like it at the time, losing was the best result.

We might be saying the same thing this time next year when we win the WC having knocked out Italy on penalties to win it.

I'd say the same about this final if Southgate got the boot.

I was annoyed for about 2 minutes last night. I was annoyed for about 2 months after we lost that League Cup semi final to Bradford in 2013, in fact it still pisses me off now.
Villa first, always.

I'm still annoyed that Vidic wasn't sent off.
