Did anyone determine the impact of Amadou's insurance coverage on our FFP/SCR- restrained summer transfer activity given the injury occurred whilst playing for Belgium ? Do we have a 'free hit' to loan/sign a replacement for the 12 months that he will likely be out ?

Because, so we were told, the rules were put in place to stop clubs spending beyond their means. Man United being billions in debt shows that:

1. The rules do not prevent clubs spending beyond their means.
2. The rules were never actually intended to stop clubs spending beyond their means. They were intended to maintain the status quo.

The rules were introduced when UEFA were run by Michel Platini. The most corrupt UEFA chairman who spent most of his career at the world's most corrupt club.

Why there are still people who believe there was ever any underlying fairness motivating the introduction of these rules is beyond me.

I don’t think anyone reasonable thinks it’s fair. I’m just a bit bored of people (most of the Villa ‘influencers’) saying “it’s not fair”.

Yeah, we know.

What's a Villa influencer?

Bardell, Justin etc. I could have said podcasters but people were referring to them as influencers on here the other day.

They have both influenced me not to listen to them.

Anyone considered an online influencer is a twat. It's been scientifically proven.

And Dave wasn't being serious.

Is Man Utd’s debt unsustainable?

Probably not, no. But if other clubs got into debt, then that would be. That's what the rules were supposed to prevent. So why haven't they got any rules against debt, only straitjacket policies that prevent speculating to accumulate?

Because those are the rules the PL clubs voted for. 19-1 I think it was.

My friend, I am not running for office, and if I were I’d be running in a ‘reform the rules’ ticket. But what is the point in asking questions you know the answers to?

On 28 June 2005, the Glazer family completed their takeover of Manchester United Football Club.

It loaded the club with debt, and over the next 20 years, BBC Verify has found about £1.2bn has been spent on debt interest, debt repayments, dividends and fees to the family.

To fund the deal, the Glazers borrowed millions of pounds from hedge funds and left the club with debts of £604m.

One year on, the club had already paid £53.2m in debt interest to its lenders and in fees to the Glazer family.
