A profit is good isn’t it? Is this good enough for UEFA?

UEFA will still find a way to punish us whether it be a €10m fine, short changing us for reaching the quarter finals of the Champions League, having a tiny prize money for the Europa league, basically anything to maintain the cartel of the 16 clubs.

£378.1m turnover, is way over 10x the amount of the Chimney boys, while our profit is £12m shy of their overall revenue, for a bit of context.

I'm not sure why they are your first thought.

As I hate Small Heath and this seems like yet another day in the calendar to flex the dominance of the Villa over them, when we're piling up the filthy luca for another tilt at the Champions League. I'm still very pleased with the West Ham performance, I'm very much looking forward to going to Bologna and a diversion to Milan, financially we have good results, we're actually building a new stand- great times.

Well they do want the attention, so it’s good to give it to them on occasion.

So their fans who come on here all the time get a reality check on what is actually needed to be a consistent European qualifying team.

Indeed, let's celebrate some positive FFP news. Up the Vialli!

Filthy Luca sounds like an interesting guy. Monty, you know him? Worth a DM?

My second thought is the Geordies getting into bother with UEFA over breaches. They've also flogged their stadium to themselves and will lease it back.

Excellent work by Chris Heck; a real shame that he's no longer with the Club.

I'm not sure why your first thought is about someone else's first thought. What do you think about it?

Have we sold the Warehouse to ourselves? Does this mean future revenue will be excluded from our accounts?

We sold Villa Park and kept the revenue. so i presume its on the same leased basis. I think this was the transaction I mentioned that the CFO told me about.

Thank you. The “disposal” is mentioned in the same context as selling the women’s team, where old reports suggest cash was involved.

Anyway your stadium theory sounds viable. Logical too. If you’re an investor and specialist in concerts, you might not want the burden of a football team, so it makes sense to separate the companies ie it may not be an accountancy fudge.

I think the most important part of that isn't the headline figure (although that is slightly higher than expected) but rather the breakdown of where it came from.

increased revenue of £103m but with sponsorship revenues increasing by 31% to £28.6m and other commercial revenues by 69% to £70m means the best part of £50m of that is repeatable income that will still be on the books this season. Add in Europa League income and some increases from other sponsorship and we're hopefully looking at still being around £350-360m (depending on how we get on it Europe still) which would be a superb performance and means missing out of the CL for this season won't have set us back as far as it may have. Next year we should be looking to go well over £400m.

Also means there's no ambiguity on including revenue from using the warehouse for other things when there's no matches on, which is the sort of thing I'd half expect UEFA to pick up as a reason to punish clubs at some point.
