You'd think with all those charges hanging over City that businesses would be cautious about throwing large sums of money at them.

Unless, of course, they already know the overcome, or there are seriously robust clauses included.
More likely to be the former rather than the latter, unless the Citeh brand comes out of this so deeply tarnished and toxic(which is extremely doubtful) there would not appear to be much risk to those who seem happy to jump on the bandwagon.

Sadly.

Villa have figured a way to beat FFP. It's called SFPS.

When Dougie and Leon left, Unai told them to 'Stay Fit, Play Shit' and I promise we will get you back some day. JJ is already well on track.

Up yours Man City*, Chelski etc.

Unai is a genius.

These are the closing paragraphs from a piece in the Graun about Palace's (relatively) poor season:

It’s very hard, bordering on the impossible, even with an FA Cup success, without an enormous injection of cash, for a club to climb from being a top-15 side to a top-10 side, let alone a top-eight side or a top-six side.

And the risk of collapse, of one sale prompting a flurry of departures, the example of Leicester is ever present. Money is destiny.

Well, how have we done it then?

On a net spend under Emery of £40m (prior to this transfer window)?

We spent a lot of money before Emery arrived.

A decent few of whom are still there (Digne, Bailey, Buendìa etc).

Our net spend since 2021-22 is £98.68m, we're 16th overall in net transfer spend during that period.

Palace have spent £159.74m over the same time.

I don't know why we're worried about all this SCR stuff then. You appear to have comprehensively proved that it's not an issue. You should email the club.

I think to really crack the PSR/SCR game the stars have to align perfectly and that’s the really frustrating part. You have to get all of your player buys and sales totally right, you have to have a stadium and commercial operation that brings in non-football related income, and you probably have to have a generational talent as a manager. And that’s just to get a foot in the door, potentially.

Villa and Newcastle have jemmied open the door a bit, we just need to keep up the leverage. 1 to 2 more seasons will see us on a par with Chelsea imv.

Ground is going to 50k
Commercial operation is getting into gear
Generational manager talent ✅

We just need a trophy to show for our efforts over the last 5 or 6 years.

We have Unai and more money coming in now, if I’m understanding you. I wandered off topic a bit and making a more general comment.

I reckon we would need to be qualifying for the CL every year for another ten seasons and win some stuff to be getting anywhere near them wrt income etc. They made their bones when there were no spending or borrowing restrictions after all.
