€450,000 for the win last night on top of €4.31m for qualifying. If you want to keep track in future it’s €150,000 for a draw.
Any word on what Villa will get from the "Value Pillar"?

Last season it was over €18m before a ball was kicked.

Edit, just done a rough check and I reckon there are only four teams in this season's Europa League with a higher UEFA coefficient (based on 5 years).

In answer to your first question, no idea. It will be the most in the competition along with Forest though won’t it?

The Value Pillar is split into two components:

European Part (73%) based on Country Media Market Value and your 5 year UEFA co-efficient.
Non European Part (27%) based on your 10 year UEFA coefficient.

I’m unsure on our country media market value but it is packaged with the CL (we actually benefit here from the greedy six) so it’ll be either first or second (it was second last year behind France) and our 5 year UEFA coefficient is the 9th best so the likelihood is we’ll be one of the top half dozen or so teams taking our share.

Our 10 year UeFA coefficient is however 21st (?) best of the 36 teams in this years Europa League so less of an earner for us.

There are 8 teams with a higher coefficient which was why we were last in Pot1.

7, or we'd be in pot 2.

There are 9 teams in each pot.

Yes I realised after I'd posted, for some reason I was convinced there were only 32 teams in it.

I remember last season Villa's Value Pillar figure fell somewhere in the middle of the thirty-six. Remarkable considering we'd had only one season in Europe in a decade prior.

75% of it is based on the national coefficient.

Is it? I never knew that. I thought it was more on the team's coefficient.

Reading it again I've got that a little bit wrong, they used 75% as an example but don't give an actual figure.

However short version is:

Money from European broadcasting rights is split based on teams being ranked on country based on how much their broadcasters spend and everyone gets ranked 1-36 and gets allocated an inverse share based on that rank, so 36 shares for rank 1.

The non-european broadcast income is messier, last year (in the CL) it was split based on the 10 year co-efficient for the club so we were quite low but this season it's the same calculation as the for European, so much simpler to work out.

I assume England will be top on spending (based on the figures from last year) and that teams within the country get ranked by coefficient.

If that's right it should mean we're getting €10.7m-ish.

The 75% is the first payment you get in September with the €4.3m starting fees. The other 25% is paid at the end of the season.

I’m about to link to this years most boring letter from UEFA to National FAs.

https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/029a-1e0b5460b86d-31e6cad26358-1000/20250616_circular_2025_32_en.pdf

Everything you wanted to know about how all the money is split but were afraid to ask. I’d suggest strong black coffee to get through it.
